If this goes to a 3rd set, which it most likely will, Roger will have the upper hand given that Nadal played a long match yesterday. I can't believe Roger choked in the 1st. Didn't that happen in Barcelona as well against Rafa? Up 4-1?

It's obviously incredibly difficult to take a set from Nadal on clay...but this is just ridiculous from Fed...looks like the same thing over again. Tightening up and playing like a nobody.

I can´t disagree with that.

Wow, lol...same thing happening 2nd set. This is absurd.

To be sure, Nadal deserves credit for never giving up, but both sets were on Fed's racket, and he just let the 1st one go, and now the 2nd one went way longer than it needs to. And it looks like he's letting this set go too.

Yea, it's really funny...he must think there's some kind of Karma, so after he's done playing great tennis again Nadal on clay for 5 games, he has to play 6 or 7 games of junk.

I'm a Fed fan, but you really have to see the humor there...it is only a game, so no point in getting too upset.

It is official. Federer will not win RG if he plays Rafa. No way you can convince me he can take 3 sets vs this man, on a slower and bouncier clay.

Must say, of all the great players (the all-time greats) Roger is the only one who is more limited by his mental state than his physical ability. Can't remember Sampras ever being described as losing bc of lack of confidence or playing to conservatively.

I have to say I feel for you right now. This is tough to take from a fan perspective.

It´s times like today that Wilander was referring to. Even though it´s barely happens.

If he plays like he did the first part of each set, he can...but it's still be close. But if he plays like the 2nd half, he won't even make the final. Fortunately, he typically only has complete lapses like that vs. Nadal on clay.

Rafa kills him at the net. 0-30. He'll put a dent on Feds confidence major time if he finishes this in now. He'll do it , 0-40 down !

Rafa in two after all ?? Can not believe it.

Can't believe this, Federer, has got to be the only player with so many chances against Nadal, but he loses it mentally. I'm starting to think maybe only Djokovic can win against Nadal on clay.

CMON FED

Fed has now had 6 games (3 on his own serve to win a set). If he loses this in straights it'll be scarily like MC. There he was a break up twice in the first and 4-0 in second. Here, 5-1 up in first (with two set pts, one on serve) and a break in second.

Both times was up because he played well then tried to play safe. Higueras needs to *****slap him.

Actually, Wilander commented that Roger's "balls shrink to a very small size" specifically when he's playing Rafa. So this actually happens quite often.

Hey, it's ok...if Fed loses or wins, I mean, I'm disappointed. As a fan, I want to see greatness (meaning the FO). But if it's not like that has any saying on me, or like I have any control. So it's kind of a psychosis to get incredibly down for too long over something you can't control. I mean, if a comet's going to hit the Earth, I'll be bummed out even though I can't control it. But Fed failing to overcome Nadal on clay, or even melting down, is hardly the end of the world.
