No mental pressure? Then he had no prssure against Stepanek as well, nota gainst Roddick in Miami. BECAUSE Federer is expected to win, there's pressure every match. Think he's got more pressure today than possibly tomorrow against Nadal.

interesting, but fed looks fit now, 100%, and seppi has no weapons, he's not crafty like stepanek and not in the same league as roddick. i agree he must feel huge pressure to win all the time, but if i was as good as him this particular matchup is not one i would feel held danger for me.

Roger looks so focussed and motivated and hungry. Seppi makes a lot of mistakes. This first set could be wrapped up very soon.

I cannot believe this is a semi- final. Where in heavens name have all the other top ten GONE?
haha, where have you been ?
The top ten got their butts spanked earlier, or got hurt in Rome.

Should we call Radek back ?

Is it me, or does Federer talk to himself on court more this tournament than he'd do in previous years.. A lot more "no"'s and stuff

If Fed is on like he seems today, he doesn't have to fear Djokovic or Nadal. Not saying e'll blow them both off the court on any kinda surface, but he sure still got what it takes to beat either of them.

Lol, it feels like it doesn't hit. However, Seppi was serving.

Yeah, i noticed that...I deleted it but you were too fast! that will treach me for going to another site for most of a game LOL It would have injected some hope for Seppi had it happened.

seppi sending signals that he's going to hit harder and more aggressively this set, in the hope of getting fed to shank a few. nothing so far.

I LOVE the way Federer has incoporated the drop-shot into his claycourt game!

Higueras already had a good influence on him
Amen. Roger used to think the drop shot wasn't necessary and was too stubborn to use it. But on clay, especially with guys hanging 10 ft. behind the baseline (think Rafa!) it's a great shot to keep them from getting too comfortable.

The backhand is really on - and the FH is the killshot it has been for the last 4 years. But I think against whoever he plays tomorrow he needs more 1st serves and cheap points. But against either, it should be a great match.

If that his what Roger thought, he's a bit of a moron. He KNEW Rafael was too tough for him on Roland Garros, and yet he didn't want to play it? I just can't believe that. I think he thought it wasn't the right tactic.. If he really thought that, it would be a shame, cause it might have been key, while now he might be lacking too much in other areas (bbackhand, worse footwork etc.)
