If that his what Roger thought, he's a bit of a moron. He KNEW Rafael was too tough for him on Roland Garros, and yet he didn't want to play it? I just can't believe that. I think he thought it wasn't the right tactic.. If he really thought that, it would be a shame, cause it might have been key, while now he might be lacking too much in other areas (bbackhand, worse footwork etc.)

Just like Boris Becker - he should have (could have) won RG - but he was too stubborn and wanted to prove he could bash from the baseline with the dirtballers instead of attacking off his serve and short shots from his opponent. Oh, well. Sometimes guys at #1 think they know it all. Hopefully Roger's selection of Higueras, and apparent use of some new strategy, shows he's realized that...

Apart from his serve and the poor Bp conversion Federer was great today. His best match of the tournament so far.
Loved his variation, beautiful to watch.

Federer only lost 19 games so far, and got broken only twice this tournament (twice against Nieminen).
He might actually be the favourite for the final, though I'd put my money on Nadal if he reaches it.
