Med, a Novak admirer, single-handedly made Nadal the slam leader

2019 USO Final - loses to Rafa
2021 USO Final - beats Djoker denying him the Grand Slam
2022 AO Final - loses to Rafa again despite being 2 sets up

Even if we argue that he had little chance in the first one, he basically made a 2 slam difference in favor of the Nadal. Does Nole regret being nice to him earlier?

Don't forget the major he gifted him in Australia in 2021. He tried as hard as he could, alright?

Yeah, he probably thought that giving him USO 2021 would've been too obvious. But as a Nole fan, he should've known better that to gift any to Nadal.

Shame on him,

I’d argue denying Novak the CYGS was a bigger deal

Winning that makes Djokovic stand alone in a way. It also means if Nadal is ahead a slam or two in the race, Novak still would have an incredible argument for GOAT

Yes because a top pro decides when to give his best effort and when not to, solely to affect the Slam race between Nadal and Djokovic.

OP might need a reminder that some people care about their own success more than the success of people they're barely even friends with.

Lol. The NextGen already know their purpose is to be a springboard of the Big 3 to achieve greater success, if they had enough talent, they would've taken over already like every single generation this and previous century instead of letting two 35+ year olds make a mockery out of the field.

Imagine if Connors let a 40 year old Rosewall beat him in 1974 Wimby final. That's the situation we're in right now. So if that's the case, at least be inclined toward the guy you actually support.

Newcombe losing to Rosewall in both Wimbledon and the USO there was a low moment for tennis - very unseemly of the world #1/#2 to get rekt by a 39-year-old even if he is a GOAT tier player - thankfully Connors was there to take the mantle.

Medvedev will probably win the US Open and AO every year once Nadjok are retired, so Nadal's wins over Med will have huge value :happydevil:

It doesn't matter. Djokovic will win 24-25 Slams in the end. So Slams #22 for Nadal won't make any big difference on long run.

I'm quite sure OP is joking.

You seem to have a lot of confidence in Djoker for a fed fan. Or is it just from him burning Fed so often?

Au contraire, mon ami. Djokovic made Nadal the slam leader by losing to him, forfeiting participation in slams due to his moronic stance on vaccination policy in time of global pandemics, hitting lineswomen in their throats by being negligent, etc. Please, don't deprive Djokovic of this recognition. Credit where credit is due. Djokovic has performed this feat singlehandedly, and kudos to him.

Some good logic here.

If Nadal ends up winning RG22, then there will only be one match which will have ultimately contributed to Rafa's triumph in the "Grand Slam race", and Daniil wasn't involved...
Wrong. Rafa is supposed to win at RG and to lose at AO.

What about Novak himself taking some blame for not stoping him in 8 french opens and 2 US opens. If Djokovic has won these 10 matches, Nadal would have been at 12 only..

He's not a Novak admirer even if he is friendly with Novak. He wished Rafa luck to win the slam race:

Q. What words did you share with Rafa at the net?
DANIIL MEDVEDEV: Yeah, I don't remember everything. Well, I congratulated him. He said congrats to me for my week, that I'm amazing player. I basically said he's also an amazing player (smiling).

Then I said what I think is they have a great contest between three of them, and I wished him luck to be one of the three, to be better, yeah. Because I do think they have a great contest, and it's fun to watch.

OP, it doesn't quite work that way.

Med is out there trying to win matches, titles and money for himself
