Yea I have about 10-12 hours in the VP2s. i really liked the VP1's and these are just so much larger and bulkier. Surprisingly, given the extra 1.5 oz's i dont feel any slower, but I may just switch to the Asics Solution speed FF2 after this pair wears out. Its so hilarious to me that so many pros switched back to the VP1....and they are hard to find anywhere in my size 9.5 online!

Hello guys. I am interested in sizing. I had nike cage 3 in 11us size and nike cage 4 in 10.5. If I want to buy these shoes, which size would you recommend?
Thanks!

Yes but also if its a better shoe overall. Based on the review by that foot doctor zac.
since i dont own the hardcourt version, i cant tell, but i wouldnt recommend the clay version.
material on top is weak and starts tearing very fast (after like 8-10 hits). i like the clay sole though.

I think you may have been unlucky here. This is after 8-10 hits or 8-10 sessions (hours?)
I've logged about 20 hours with my HC Vapor Pro 2s and haven't had an issue with the upper. I tend to drag my toes as well, though more toward the tip and not in the location on the photo here

8-10 sessions each 1-2 hours
im not dragging anything. the rupture is clean from sand and on both shoes in the same spot. my feet might be too wide, i never had that problem with nike shoes though.
i got my money back from the dealer but didnt have to return the shoes. im gonne play them until my pinky toe comes out and switch to the gel resolution.
its a pitty since im a nike fanboy for like 30 years and the zoom vapor pro 2 is beautifull.

That seems very unusual that the upper would rupture without friction from the court. You don't have hot spots on your toe in that area either? It's definitely possible they are too wide for your foot, as they are a narrow fit for me in the toe box, but I haven't run into this issue. What size are you wearing?

Yes, exactly. I meant to say your foot is too wide for the shoe. Is your toenail cutting through the inside?
Ultimately if they don't fit, they don't fit. But it is a shame since they are great clay shoes. The Gel Res should be a great replacement and it does have a wider toe box so you should not run into the same issue.

Anyone can compare this model to the Zoom NXTs that have used both? (Comfort, durability, stability) Still like the ZNXTs but hate the fact that I have to drill small holes through the shoe for the lacing since the lacing system sucks on it.

Based on my experience the Vapor Pro 2 is noticeably more stable and than the Zoom NXT, which I think is because the Vapor has more of a flange around the outsole and just more outsole contact with the court. Durability is likely equal depending on how you wear down shoes. Comfort is very subjective, but I would think that the comfort would be about the same for most people because the midsole foam in the heal and zoom air in the forefoot is similar in both shoes. The biggest difference for comfort apart from how the shoes fit you personally is the lack of a shank in the VP2, which may give some folks less stiffness or break in time.

However, if you're looking for a more traditional lacing system where you can do a runner's knot, the Vapor Pro 2 may not be what your looking for. It has an extra hole on the lateral side only, which means you can go under and out the first hole and the top and then over and back in through the extra hole and crank the upper over your ankle a bit more, but you cannot do a runners not. I'm not sure you could even punch another hole on the medial side because the last two eyelets are loops on that side. But, these loops make it so you can tighten the structure around your arch more. I will say, as someone who loves to have a runner's knot available on any performance shoe, as quirky as this lacing system is, it works for me with some fussing.

Thank you for your insights!

Based on the looks, the VP2 looks more beefier. I’m not too sure on how much the ZNXTs weigh, but I do know for a fact that the VP2 is heavy, around 14oz. Anyway, I do agree with the lack of shank/none on the VP2. The ZNXTs do have the flyplate which acts like a shank but also slightly stiff when first wearing them. Lastly, I'm not too worried about tying a runners knot since I don't tie my shoes that way. I do like the extra padded tongue on the VP2s though compared to the ZNXTs booty tongue which I'm not a big fan of given I feel like I have to sink in the lacing a little tighter. As for the hole drilling, I might experiment to see if it could make a difference, if necessary. But we’ll see

When I do have time, I'll try them from a local tennis store to see how they fit overall. Would you say they're true to size?

Yes, should be true to size for most.
Weight isn't too bad for me since it's mostly in the heel. Staying on your toes the shoe feels pretty light.

yeah well, i wouldnt expect that after 10 weeks. thats disappointing for a 120 euro shoe.
i bought them at a good price, because my vapor pros are getting thin
when i put the vp2s on they seemed heavier but more solid and stable than the vapor pros.
they fit me about the same as the vps, no breakin required for me

i was a bit skeptical as i wasnt a fan of the zoom line. i played with the Zoom Pro 2s
and the stiffness saved me from a twisted ankle, as i was volleying akwardly and nearly rolled
my ankle. fortunately i was able to walk it off and continue playing.
if i was wearing my vapor pros, i would have definitely twisted my ankle and been out of tennis for a while.

so now i am a fan, as they are more stable than the vapor pros

i just bought another pair, as i am not that concerned about the wear

Yeah price dropped a lot recently. Saw them for 77 Euro compared to the ~120 when I bought them. Didnt see such a price drop on other shoes or models in such a short period.

I'm sure it's been said here already, but vapor pro 2s seem to run a half size small. I wear 11s in just about every other shoe brand but had to go up to 11.5s in these and they feel perfect

This has not been my experience. True to size at 9.5 US. Slightly long, even.
Are they too narrow or too short for you in 11?

Ok, I'm in love with this shoe. Great comfort, speed and stability!! They also look great, I'm loving the new cardinal white and lime green colorway

Super interesting that they are short and narrow for you. The only thing I can think is that it might be a difference in how the adjusted the sizing as they went up the chart.

What other brands are you an 11 in?

Asics the last two years and new balances before that

This makes even less sense when you look at the size chart for Asics compared to Nike. When you convert to cm you're actually wearing a 29.5 (Nike 11.5) compared to a 28.5 (Asics 11)

Weird!
:-D why are people telling me that my personal experience with shoes is incorrect. Why do you care how my feet feel? I'm just sharing my experience

I never said it was incorrect, it's just very strange!
I'm curious because your experience does not match mine. I'm certainly not trying to imply that your experience is wrong in any way. Everyone's feet are completely different and the last of a shoe will fit differently for different people.
I also don't want to continue to tell folks that the Vapor Pro 2 will be true to size for them if that isn't the case.

Idk what to say, gel res 8s and 9s ran true to size and felt great. My new balance 996s ran true to size at 11. My toes bump the end on the Vapor pro 2s in 11, but feel perfect in the 11.5s

It's weird, I am semi starting to like these shoes the more I see them.
Maybe better colorways than at launch?
Maybe they just release so many my perception is changing?
Strange?

Also I like Khachanov's kit in that pic above, is it possible Nike is going back to making clean kits and not garbage?
