And Nadal breaks back. Was just a matter of time, he's finding his range. Too many 2nd serves from Baghdatis.

Big hold by Rafa 5-4. If he takes this set he´s running away with the 3rd. Baggy was so close and will have a letdown if he loses this set, Nadal will also have a big boost form it and roll with it.

Brain cramp from Baggy after the spectacular save. 2 set points for Rafa.

What a scorching return by Rafa on set point. He just stole this set from Baggy.

Not only does he take it awy but now serves first in the deciding set with all the momentum on his side. He´s the favorite going into this set. Baggy must be gutted, he was up a break in the second and Nadal snuck it out.

This shows what makes Federer and Nadal so much better then the rest. Not just their their games but they are very mentally stronger while the contenders/pretenders like Baghdatis are very mentally weak.

This is Baggy´s best form since Australian Open ´06. Nadal has a handful today.

Just hope Baggy doesn't fade away as he usually does when in these positions, really has been great tennis to watch.

So much about the tanking theory...

Can't you see? Nadal not only has revolutionized clay court tennis but also the art of tanking! He is the one player who can tank whilst keeping his effort level up enough to not get fined AND simultaneously have a great chance of making a Masters Series final at the same time.

Exactly why you have to respect the guy, talented in many fields.

I know you´re joking, but I wish I could tank like that.

Seems like the one who breaks first in a set is going to lose the set. ;)
Don't think it will be the same in the 3rd, though.

Nadal started playing very well and he broke baghdatis (3-0), then nadal has started to make a lot of UE and baghdatis has started to play out of his mind, he has won five games in a row and he won the first set clearly.

First three games Rafa his no errors while Baggy was a bit tight and couldn't really do much with his groundstrokes, quick 3-0 lead for Nadal.

Fifth game 3-1 40-0 Nadal up, Nadal hits a few errors and Baggy capitalizes, gains confidence and his level rises, winning the next four games to go 5-3 up with his strategy basically being hit deep with his own backhand to Nadal's forehand, then when a short ball came hit a winner/force and error up the line. Nadal also started pressing a little and made a few errors along with missing some easy volleys.

Overall, Nadal started well, dropped his level. Baggy started poorly, raised his level, equates to a first set for Baggy.

This match actually reminds me of the Aussie Open final with Federer which Baghdatis should have gone up 2 sets to 0 but couldnt. Recollecting in my mind the pattern of the 2 matches were similar around that point. I dont think he has the nerve to win a match like this, particularly vs a killer like Fed or Rafa.

Mmm, first Nadal leads 0-3, then Baggy begins to smoke the lines and Nadal shanks some seemingly easy shots so score goes 5-3, then both hold and it is 6-4. There was some tanking talk going around. In the second set Nadal seems to have found again the measures of the court and Baggy has cooled down a bit.
