Sinner fans , is it time to get worried?

I heard about him quiting from Madrid masters when he absolutely looked lock to win it , he should have won two clay masters this year by now if not for bad luck ( umpire robbing him against Pushef and injury now) are you worried about him not playing RG or being at his best at RG? is hip injury serious enough to keep him out for RG? I hope he recovers soon and rest at Rome to blast competition at RG. Alcaraz lost to lolvev at his favourite Madrid masters lol. If Sinner returns from hip injury then who is gonna stop him? Maybe another injury? since level wise nobody can stop him without any unfortunate event/ events.

Does anyone know the specifics of the hip injury? It's hard to make more accurate guesses when the actual problem is unknown. Various injuries heal at different rates, and sadly some injuries negatively affect entire careers far too soon. Ask del Potro and Thiem.

A big intangible however is that Sinner is Italian, and wants to do well at Rome, his home tournament. If he either does not play Rome, or plays poorly there, I'd be worried. But we are not there yet. We'll know more in a week or so.

Simple he is too tall for tennis longevity. He will probably win 12-15 majors if remains healthy in the next 10 years. About level, Carlos can impose himself physically to Sinner similar like Nadal to Djokovic in the beginning of their careers. Also Djokovic can drag him in attrition battle in 5 sets at RG. On form its Janik, Carlos, Daniil but health wise its Djokovic if he can rise his endurance level witch is lacking this year.

This isn't bad luck. There is a reason why he only has 1 clay title (in a 250). In Monte-Carlo there was still a set + a final to win the title. If he was really meant to beat Tsitsipas, this wrong call wouldn't have changed anything. He still had plenty of room to win this match. He lost fair and square. And since when are injuries "bad luck"? How is Sinner "a lock" to win a Masters he never liked in the past? A lot of players were injured this week, starting with Alcaraz. They are all unlucky I guess?

Sinner is a non-factor anyway, only won ONE clay title EVER, and it was Umag :-D
Will probably have a very short career with those toothpick legs on clay especially where change of direction is crucial.

He would have needed just one game has umpired rewarded him , 2 break up is a huge lead and he would have serve botted for one game to pass the line. Umpire giving a wrong call is bad luck, just admit it son.

To me he looks he is still growing. With really long arms and legs , he can reach every ball but you got the sense that constitution isn't build for long run in tennis sharp change of direction environment .

I mean it's a little bit concerning. You never know when an injury can leave lasting consequences in your body.

I don't think anyone expected Thiem to drop that hard after his injury. Tsitsipas after his elbow injury and subsequent surgery had to completely alter his serve and backhand with the known issues. What about Del Potro?

The tour is filled with talented players that would be ranked even higher if only not for that one injury.

It is what it is.

Tennis is just too physical nowadays, its crazy that having all the Sports medicine evolved, players get more injured than when masters finals were 5 sets and players played week in week out without injure

I have maintained that sinner Raz and rune are not at their physical peak.

Raz maybe 2 years away. Sinner 1 year away.

Rune far away.

I think sinner is right on track. And Raz is actually a FREAK because he is just turning 21. Problem with Raz is not the cramps and the backhand which he misfires. I think he will get fitter and better.

But he is now resembling some pretty bad unlucky players like Delpo. The guy is just turning 21 and is injured 30% of the time. Not acceptable.

Knowing how Sinner (and his team) have always done things, he probably doesn't have anything too serious and retired preemptively.

Yeah he would've had a good shot at winning Madrid considering everything else, but the chance to win 1 Master title isn't worth the risk of transforming a bad feeling on the hip into a full blown injury that makes him lose sizable chunks of the upcoming very packed period

This is just a photo from an angle which shows sinner much taller than he is. See him before matches when players are at the net or during handshakes after matches. Hes 6'2-6'3 MAX. Regarding his chicken legs, thats not an indicator for how lower body will hold up to years of continuous tennis at all

Good that he pulled out of Madrid, sadly should have done it before but he likes to tough it out…

Rational decision lots of big goals ahead and no seeding danger.

It's slightly worrisome for Alcaraz and Sinner in terms of health, but more for the Spaniard than the Italian I would say. Sinner managed to stay healthy most of his career overall. Alcaraz had a bit more issues. If it keeps on happening it's a different story.

He still has time to turn things around, Djokovic's fitness was very poor from 2006 to 2010 and he changed it around completely.

He's out of Rome masters , here goes his chances of winning FO and CYGS.

Isn't a bit premature to think about CYGS this year when he had zero slams before it started?
