Huskies practicing hard today in prep for tomorrow's match, but too bad, it won't help them. They have mental block against the Trees, they don't have a chance.

So after i told you Ducks are better than their record indicate, you were right ???????? LOL. This is a result i saw coming. When you have Genius IQ, you can see these things. But never fear,,, Tomorrow we clinch the Pac-12 Title
I’ve been a ducks fan since Laurent was there. I never said they were were bad or disputed your claims that they’re a good team. For someone who has a genius IQ your predictions of Stanford NCAA titles and players becoming top 10 pros sure have been off...

I mean in the last 5 years since like 2016. Since the graduating class of 2016 none of the players you’ve predicted to be top 10 pros have happened. Klahn is the best in singles from recent Stanford History and even he was never able to crack top 50

Let's GO Card. Tomorrow we have final match of the season against the Huskies. Pac-12 title clinching opportunity on the line. This is big but you can do this. Cardinal had always done well against the huskies. GO CARD, Pac-12 title, here we come.

Another clinching opportunity for Sah ? we will see.

Let's do it guys, we play the Huskies again in 1st round of Pac 12 tournament in sunny San Diego. Let's win this one quickly and save up some energy for semis.

So, Stanford was trailing in the three unfinished singles matches, against a third-rate program by Power 5 standards. Not too impressive.

feddie predicts a win, geller loses, stanford loses...just your average day that ends in 'y'
Yeah, you'd think at some point he would tone it down. Maybe if he actually went to Stanford he'd be smart enough to realize he just makes a fool of himself year in and year out. Waiting with bated breath for his yearly post declaring how Stanford will go undefeated NEXT year, for the 10th year in a row.

Wonder if the ASU loss will cost Stanford a hosting site. Dont see how the team can be ranked top 16 now. In last week's poll, Stanford was #23 on the computer poll and #19 on the coach poll. The coach poll has ASU at #29. On 4/16 the NCAA published its list of 20 potential host sites with the decision on the final 16 to be made 5/3. Stanford was one of the teams outside the top 16 on the list. If Stanford does not make the cut, I assume 6 vs 5 SEC teams will host. There are 7 possible SEC host sites on the list-I assume FL, Tenn, Texas A&M, GA, SC are definite hosts with Kentucky and Ole Miss as possible replacements for Stanford. Miss State was not on the list. If Stanford doesnt host, USC will be the only host from PAC-12 and from the West Coast. NCAA may keep Stanford anyway to have a place besides USC to send western MM conference winners and PAC12 2 and 3 seeds.

Tough loss....even after Sah had a match point in that breaker. Insane match. Congrats to ASU though. They have a stellar team
I have hard time understanding how a team with so on-paper talent can't win three single matches. Let's forget about #1 singles for a second. How come Alex R. can't win anything on #3? He was pretty good at #2 in the past. Neel R. used to be ranked in top 100 and now he can't win a set on #6? I hope this is all due to messed up schedule/whatever due to COVID.

Stanford will be a hosting site if either Sergey Brin or Larry Page is willing to throw a few bones to the NCAA.

No seed or hosting site for Stanford.

Can the big fan of "Standford" on this board handle another loss at the hands of UVA in the NCAA tourney, or will that be too much for his fragile psyche?

well, five years ago Stanford travelled to Northwestern (which was hosting that year having just finished the best year in school history, I think), and managed to pull off a 4:3 upset, with a deciding match on #1 between good friends from Chicagoland area Fawcett and Zieba. Maybe they can repeat this year?

of course we will. I have been scouting out the virginia team , and this team is very beatable. Stanford matches up really well with them on every court

The probability of Stanford beating UVA in Charlotteville is the same as Ohio State winning the NCAA championship in May under Tucker. The same probability of @dak95_00 beating Justin Thomas in golf, which is zero.

How did I get pulled into this conversation?

I wouldn’t say zero but I’d definitely need some luck. I need his caddy to misclub him numerous times and for his putter to become bent. Then! Then I would have a chance!

I can't imagine Stanford losing to LSU so below are real possible lineups for the potential Stanford vs UVA 2nd round match. Also, I'm going on the assumption that UVA's singles lineup will be overturned as I can't think of a way to justify putting Rodesch ahead of JvdS.

Soderlund vs Geller: Soderlund here. Handles pace as well as anybody I've seen in college tennis. Geller does have some quality wins through and is extremely talented
Fery vs (likely) JvdS: money on Fery. My pick pre-season as best freshman and sticking to it.
Boyer vs (likely) Roedesch: I like Boyer here
Rotsaert vs Montes: Montes here. Both players are excellent from the baseline in a grindy way, but Montes should be favored
Sah vs Goetz: Goetz slightly favored, but Sah got some guts and has won a lot of big matches for Stanford
Rajeesh/etc vs Ross/Woodall/etc: complete toss up

Doubles always a crapshoot. Granted it is Stanford who as a team, can easily crap the bed on any given day, but this might be the most interesting of the potential 2nd round match ups

Stanford didnt get any players in NCAA singles -no Geller, Fery or Boyer. Why do all these high UTR players come to Stanford and then cant win consistently for college tennis?

geller must be busy playing an ATP tournament that week, otherwise he’d surely be the top seed

Exactly. I like Rotsaert and Sah in both of those matchups. They are vastly improved players from earlier in the year. You will soon see....... I see easily Stanford win 6-1. Go Card

@Nostradamus how do you feel about the Stanford guys not get an individual selection into the individuals tourney. Only Geller is an alternate

2 words. Complete ignorance. This has to do with ignorance of the NCAA regarding Pac-12 division and NCAA tennis. Geller is top 100 ATP tour pro right now and good enough to win the NCAA singles easily. Evidence showed that this is so, Geller beat Korda who is top 100 player already. and Fery and Rotsaert both are top 10 NCAA players right now and not to include them in the singles draw speaks volumes about competence of NCAA selection committee.

I would only say Geller is a top 100 pro if he had a winning h2h against Korda. That match he played and won, Korda was very sick and had a twisted ankle. So I don’t think we can count it

But I’m actuality it is a snuff by the NCAA in general to the PAC-12 and Big 10 conferences

Twisted ankle ? who told you that. Korda said after the match, it was one of the best matches he's ever played in his life and still lost to Geller who will be top 10 player in ATP tour.
