Technifibre Triax 1.28 is the truth (Golf Elbow recovery)

Hi from Vancouver,

i'm a 45 yrs old player, ex 5.0, i was struggling, literally, with a very strong Golfer Elbow, during months and months.
Using Big Banger Original and then switched with a Alu Power. (double mistakes !)

First of all, the only solution I found is : Rest / Shockwave Therapy on the elbow (10 sessions ), okay this s*** hurts a lot, but after a few weeks, the pain disappears ! Et voilà ! Eureka !
Other solution : Technifibre Triax (in my case , 1.28 ), I can play exactly the same than I played before with a Alu Power.
Excelent Spin and Control ! Absolutely no PAIN , I can hit the ball as hard as possible, and it's really really confortable !
(tension 45.2 lbs exactly / 20.5 kgs / I strung it 5 weeks ago, and didn't play for ... one month. The tension didn't drop at all, which I cannot say for the other clash in Luxilon )

Highly highly recommended.

Yes you right. Triax is expensive. Totally agree.
But it allow me to play, and fits to my game ( grew up on clay ).
I can hit with a ton of spin / control , not the case with any Multi , do some senior tournament, and all of that “Pain Free”.

I think its less the Triax is the cure and more that Luxilon BBO and Alu were the cause.

I think there are a lot of muted multis and syn guts that could provide similar benefits. HDX, PPC, Velocity, RIP control, to name a few.

Yes, you are also right.
There are other strings in the market, too many to mention, but the thing is..... that this string feels pretty similar to a copoly and bite the ball very well, much better than a Rip control for example.
The 1.28mm is not stiff at all.
Really impressed by this string.

agree on the comfort of the string when strung 50 and under. At 55 it still twinged my GE. I am now between 49 and 50.

Agreed. I have a full bed of triad in my Blade 18 x 20 strung at 55 lbs and it is a super comfortable string with good spin potential. I switched from Velocity MLT and find Triax offers me much more control.

Last time a play wiht triax 1,28 in my Ezone 100. In two racket i have x-one biphase and will be better string. X one have beteer comfort, power and feel. Only advantage with traix will be in spin, but only a little

Funny you ask. I ordered both Cream and Triax just a few days ago and I'm planning to do a side-by-side test with those two plus Gamma Ocho TNT. I'll report back with my experience.

Definitely Cream. It's a lot more bouncy than your average poly. I like it for its comfort and tension maintenance in a gut/poly hybrid. But for performance the Ghostwire is more crisp and refined. It's just not quite as good at comfort and tension maintenance. But if I had to play one match for all the marbles, Lux/Ghostwire would be high on my list of string choices.

I prefer Cream to GW, if for nothing else than the plush feel it provides. GW was OK, but not the creamy butter feel Cream provided, at least for me.

I wouldn't mix HDMX and Triax personally (as they are in the same family), or YPTA and Cream, but Ghostwire is the copoly jack of all trades like Head Velocity is as a multi. Ghostwire and Velocity mix well with many things.

Absolutely, it doesn't make sense to use HDMX and Triax together.
I will update this post in a few weeks (need a little time to heal my elbow 100%) - Ghostwire on crosses with Triax Main, I'm sure it works perfectly !

I use the thin version of GW 18g and 19g and they are as soft as YPTA and still keep good tension maintenance.

For some reason my experience a few years back with Isospeed Cream (big fan of Isospeed strings in general) is that it to me played stiff and I did not like the sound and plastic feeling.

I am tempted to get a few sets and try it out at lower tension, I have since changed racquets and Cream might need a 2nd chance.

BTW @g4driver did you ever try a simple sync gut (like Gosen OG Micro) as a cross string for poly ?

I have a reel of 1.30mm synthetic gut for players who use with syn gut. The most common syn gut users I have use 1.30mm syn gut as a cross with a shaped poly main. This combo seems to works best for hard-hitting players 4.0+ men who use shaped poly mains, like Volk Cyclone, Black Widow and syn gut crosses which last longer than the same gauge multifilament cross. But some of these 4.0 / 4.5 men prefer 1.40mm (15g) Prince Premiere Control as a cross with a smooth poly.

For non-string breakers here are my two most popular setups:

a) 1.30mm Technifibre Multifeel mains / 1.30mm Head Velocity Crosses is a $9.50 setup that works well for beginning players, young juniors, 3.0/3.5 women. Sure a full bed of syn gut could work, but Multifeel Main/ Head Velocity for $9.50 is a much better setup than syn gut for these players and gets zero compliments of the strings sticking out of place like syn gut. Strings sticking out of place is #1 complaint from full bed of syn gut users. For less than $10 per frame, MF/Velocity lasts these players a year and solves the strings out of place issue.

b) 1.28mm Isospeed Cream / 1.30mm Head Velocity Crosses is $9 setup that works well for many older 3.5 men, and 4.0 women '30s and up

New update: i played 1:30h today. Same indoor court.
The string broke after 35 minutes.

It’s a really good string. If you’re a string breaker, 1.33 or 1.38, definitely not 1.28

Yesterday, I brought my 2 clash tour.
One in Triax. The other one in BB original ( I was busy this week, so I didn’t go to the tennis store)
Broke the triax ( i was playing well, too bad)
Switched to the Clash in BB
First thing : better sensation in Triax, very good spin ( Spin comes definitely from your technique, not your string, but the spin was terrific yesterday in Triax no joke )
Second thing : Absolutely no pain on my GE (0/10). Not stiff at all to me. And this point is crucial to me because it gives me more confidence

Third point : pain level at the end of the game yesterday, with the luxilon BB (49 lbs ) : 2.5-3 /10, and didn’t seem I played better with it

Ive never played poly other than the prestrung rackets I bought and cut out soon after. I (probably) never will now that I have TRIAX and MULTIFEEL I can see more TRIAX type strings coming up in future as well...
