When will Thiem ever achieve the results of Tomic and Kyrgios?

In Grand slams? Thiem managed to take a set from Goffin, in January. But clearly, David was better.

If Thiem had competed in Marseille, he would have lost. Maybe, he's aiming to compete in easier fields? That would make sense.

I see a lot of potential for Thiem. He managed to beat top 10 Tomic in the final, of the great Acapulco. That was a close match, butThiem managed to edge, it out.

Let, Zverev and Kyrgios reach, his age. In how many years will Thiem reach his peak? When he attains Grigor's age? Or Rafael's age?

Which victory, was Thiem's best in your opinion?

Kyrgios can hit the ball twice as hard as Thiem can. Again, Kyrgios has progressed further in a Masters than Thiem. Kyrgios has reached a Slam quarterfinal, and I don't see Thiem ever making it that far in a Slam in his career.

Overall, Thiem is underpowered, slow, an unathletic. I expect him to end up with a career similar to Leonardo Mayer.

Kyrgios is better, but he's not a great player himself. I predict a Janowicz-like career for him.

I see a lot of potential in all of them (youngsters).. But we can only imagine who will take it to the next level. Raonic, and Thiem both can control feelings very well, Kyrgios and Zverev on the other side could have some troubles. I think its more in the head than in the body, they all are talents, but need to work hard and there is no room for errors if they want to go up.

Raonic would be the most successful without doubt among this group.

He has been a factor since 2010 and hardly ever loses matches he is supposed to win.

I see a vacuum period in the next 2 years when he take advantage.

Zverev seems to have more upside than Thiem and Kyrgios.

Thiem may end up having a Berdych/Ferrer like career. Kyrgios could end up like Tsonga or Delpo.

I haven't seen that happening lately... The South American clay court swing was brutal for him, with many tough matches, yet he looked like an energiser bunny most of the time.

His crazy training with Bresnik seems to be paying off.

the great expert has spoken. as is evident to everyone who's seen their serves, Thiem's merely in the 215-220 km/h category, whereas Kyrgios easily clocks in just shy of 300 mph and regularly hits his groundies between 150 and 200 mph.

Hitting hard is a combination of speed AND spin. Who is to say that Kyrgios isn't achieving so much more spin on his serves than Thiem (at the same speed of shot), that practically his serve isn't twice as big.

Just look at the 2 players side-by-side and tell me wich is the more promising athlete. Kyrgios is taller, thus has a higher contact point on every serve, and has longer leverages with which to bang down harder serves. The leverages argument applies to groundstrokes too - Kyrgios must be hitting a much bigger ball than Thiem.

Yes definitely on groundstrokes taller usually means longer wingspan which is more torque on his shots. Thats means more natural power

I was watching Thiem vs Nadal this morning, and though Thiem does far far better than Federer with the one hander on high balls to the backhand, it still was not good enough. Nadal kept on attacking that wing as expected.

It shows how much of a liability the one hander has become in the modern game.
