I don't know if this info has been released yet- but for the 16x19 versions being released, is this a cosmetic change only? Or are there other changes being made to this newer version? I went on their website and all the specs looked the same so I wasn't sure.

there is a percentage increase with every line. im gonna hold out 20 yrs until they finally produce the frame with 100% ball bounce, 100% spin, and last, but not least, 100% repulsionOhh, but with this new one, your balls will bounce 10% higher...
Hahahaha.. do it! You will just have to make sure racquet touches the ball and the racquet will do everything from there... rip winners all by itselfthere is a percentage increase with every line. im gonna hold out 20 yrs until they finally produce the frame with 100% ball bounce, 100% spin, and last, but not least, 100% repulsion

Did you try with lead at 10 and 2? Seems like a number of folks, earlier in this thread, liked weight at those positions. I've tried it there, and at 12, and not sure I've seen any substantial advantages so may try no lead as haven't done that yet.I had been experimenting with 1g of lead at 12 on my vcp97 310. After some time with it, I still like the stick best with no lead.
I didn’t try it at 10 and 2. For me, it just comes through the contact zone so nicely in stock form.Did you try with lead at 10 and 2? Not sure if this was posted.. but closer look of the new vcore 97 and specs of big foe!

Yeah its awesome. There are guys here who swear everyone needs a heavy frame to handle the “big” shots from some rando at their club, while Tiafoe is out there cracking it at the same specs as a stock Blade or Pure Storm..lol. Really great video. After he throws a grip on there with the big Yonex dampener its probably 332 or so in weight.
Not sure how they get the VCore 97 310 to SW 333 with a strung weight of 324 g
Those are the kind of specs Yonex should put in a retail racquet to compete with the blades.
Was thinking the same thing. The magic of the pro stock room...Not sure how they get the VCore 97 310 to SW 333 with a strung weight of 324 g
I apologize for not wanting to go through all 48 pages, but what have been overall thoughts on string/tension for the 310? Just picked up a couple but need to be strung. Thanks!

Hey thanks for the recommendation. I've seen YPTP get mentioned a lot in this thread, but I've been hesitant to try it - mostly because Mikeler ranked it somewhat poorly overall in his poly review thread, and because I'm concerned about a general pro-Yonex brand bias in this thread. Maybe those are silly reasons to not try a string, but there are so many different strings out there and I can't demo them all...@Epicular Would recommend trying Yonex Poly Tour Pro 1.25 in the low 40s. I was using Yonex Poly Tour Pro at 42/40 in my VCore Pros and the comfort was excellent.
Well my favorite is luxilon 4G but its not my go to string because of the price. I find PTP suitable for my game and the price for it is reasonable. Since I do a hybrid job on my sticks this is the best string option for me.@Epicular Yead does read a bit like Yonex bias but its actually a really well rounded string in my experience. Have also hit Head Lynx and I like it, has some similarities to PTP in that it's a nice, soft comfortable poly.
I have tried a couple of hybrid setups in the VCore, mainly with Natural Gut and I always end up going back to a full poly setup. Haven't found a hybrid that I like in this frame. It plays really nice and comfortable with poly strung in the low to mid 40s, even the low 50s is nice, but it really opens up in the low to mid 40s. 'I string for myself so I can afford to go lower tensions and restring every week.
I would try the hybrid strung at the same tension on the mains and crosses at around 53 to 55.
Cyclone is a gear shaped poly. It’s round with splines. Cyclone does work well in the vcp97 310. 1.25 is great except that it needs to be restrung after about 4-5 hours. 1.30 works better because it remains playable and lasts longer.I'm liking Volkl Cyclone 17 @ 48lbs (not sure if it's round). Had my best hit in a while last night. ** this is with the previous (blue) VCP97 310.
Loving this stick now after overlooking it (chose the WUT over it, jumping on then off the ClashWagon, among others).
Interested to see how the Emerald 97 310 compares - but I'll try to groove with this one for a while and if my Holicing flares up, I have that to go to (without a huge change).
I recently got the old Vcore Pro 97 (310), but I noticed that it is about 0.5 cm (or 0.2 inches) shorter than my DR 98's. Could anyone confirm if the Vcore is a bit shorter or is this a QC issue?
It's the butt caps that are Sony Sensor compatible... they make the racquet a smidge longer.
Thanks!
Strung or unstrung? I noticed my new one was a bit short compared to my others but after stringing the length was identical to 1 of my other two.I recently got the old Vcore Pro 97 (310), but I noticed that it is about 0.5 cm (or 0.2 inches) shorter than my DR 98's. Strung. How much longer is the last one?Strung or unstrung? I noticed my new one was a bit short compared to my others but after stringing the length was identical to 1 of my other two.
I measured 27" - I also verified my stick with a Yonex rep to make sure it wasn't a fake.Strung. How much longer is the last one?
As far as I can tell most have experienced the Vcore 97 (310) to play best in stock form without lead. Normally I get a grip 2 and build it up with leather. Have anyone had a positive experience with only leather on the 310, or leather and a bit of lead to balance it out? I need to build the grip up one way or another, but would it be better to do so with a thicker synthetic grip, and maybe 2 og. I guess that would still mess up stock figurations, but not as much as a heavy leather grip.
I have kimony leather on all 3 of my sticks. I never had a issue with it. people have mentioned that leather w/o lead messes with the balance of the racquet but I never had a problem with it. I could lead it up if I wanted a little more plow but i do just fine without it too.As far as I can tell most have experienced the Vcore 97 (310) to play best in stock form without lead. Thanks! But kimony is really light and thin, right? I'm afraid it wouldn't make the grip thickerI have kimony leather on all 3 of my sticks.
