We’re yet to see how that massive stadium will affect playing conditions if there’s a lot of wind but by moving away from Key Biscayne we should see easier conditions on the outer courts and better overall play. The players will also have easier access to the tournament site with many nice resorts within minutes of the stadium. KB was beautiful but so remote for everyone working, playing or attending the tournament. This should be a major step forward for Miami to gain equal footing with IW as the fifth major.

I think there will be less wind cause the new location is near downtown

How are the courts playing??
Similar slow as molasses like key Biscayne or something changed???

He is skipping MC so that will give him a longer break before he enters clay. He said his body is feeling good so he probably wants to play matches as much as possible. And not suffer from any rust.

The conditions were just fine on the outer courts.

And you know Rafa/Fed were probably staying just down the block on Key Biscayne at the Ritz-Carlton.

The “fifth major” even as marketing hyperbole went down the drain when Miami dropped the Bo5 final.

Your post reads like a write-up from someone that never attended the Miami tournament. I’ve yet to hear from anyone that attended the Key Biscayne event that thought what we want is to move it from this idyllic location to a parking lot and make it more of a corporate event with expensive, non-tennis add-ons.

Well forgive me for not keeping up with everything in the world of tennis, in the past couple of years I've not been that active and mainly around slams or certain periods of the year, maybe when it was announced I wasn't really keeping up with things

I went there several times in the 90’s and got quite tired of the schlep out to KB and the long walks from the parking lot and back. I’ve seen the conversion video of Hard Rock and it looks to be more fan friendly and, coming from Central Florida, will be a helluva lot more convenient for day trips to and from there when I choose to go...hopefully next year if my work schedule allows. As for the players, I guess I should have added the word “ALL” and capitalized and bolded it. You picked out two of the 144 men’s singles players that will compete in qualies and MD. Most of the others didn’t stay and couldn’t afford the R-C on KB. This should help the journeymen out a lot, especially a few of those dubs grinders that will walk with an $8K check minus taxes/expenses for a 1R loss. Or 1R singles qualies losers, who get $3.4K.

Djokovic doesn't want to win anything but Grand Slams.
Federer gets lucky and will win.
Nadal is injured.
Zverev is the only real threat to Federer and that's because it is not a Grand Slam.
Anderson, lol.
Thiem, can't come to close to beat any consistent top player on HC.
Tsitsipas, overrated.
Khachanov, is a joke.
Wawrinka, won't reach a Masters or Grand Slam Quarter Final again.
Other, Opelka.

Miami will always be the one that got away from Nadal. Just not destined to win there.

0-5 in finals and now not playing the last and upcoming edition.

Djokovic had the same problem in cincin

Federer has the same problem in Rome or MC
