Nice assist by Jesse Lingard. Straight from the training pitch.

Well played, Young Boys. Well and truly took United to school. Made them look like the playschool boys.

''Ole, Carrick and Phelan couldn't empty a jug of water if you gave them a filled jug and instructions.''

I like that burn. Better than anything I could come up with at this moment in time.

It's not even one extreme to the other with me. I was always most concerned about our defending, but then you see how we play when we have to use a non-existent plan b. It's still 1900 amateur C team long ball and hope stuff.

He already ruled out blaming the AstroTurf before the game so I bet he is happy he has the 10 men excuse to use. :/

All that class on the pitch and excellent high tempo stuff. Yeah right. In some other galaxy, maybe.

Here in the real world. It's pass to Fred, hold it up for ten minutes, pass back to the defender and then BOOM. It's long ball time, Jeff.

OK, I'm done now. Different day, same frustration.

Showing your tackle to Young Boys was never going to end well  I blame Solskjaer, personally. He should have played Two-Bissaka, at least if he got sent off, he'd still of had Wan spare

In other news, I know 3rd placed sides go into the Europa League. Does anyone know if the bottom of the table sides go into that new UEFA Tin Sandwich Platter trophy with Spurs and the Moldovan second division champs? Asking for my Man Utd friends :sneaky: (Love you all really :giggle:).

Are you happy with Red Rom so far?

Nice of you to look out for your friends. :p The group now does look challenging. I know Ole talks about how we started last year and we still got eliminated. He's saying about getting 3 wins at home and something away. But then you look at how we played Villarreal in the Europa League final. We haven't been that convincing at home either.

Time to get back on the one game at a time bandwagon.

. Can't afford this type of inconsistency when the league is this good. Better make up for it Sunday

I hope we don't play side to side long balls for the whole game. Our last shot was the 25th minute or something last night.

This might seem like a pointless line I'm going to say but since we are playing West Ham next. Imagine The Moyes had the current squad we have now. No other team would be able to match us. OK, slight exaggeration :happydevil:

There are downsides to 90% of the people I know being Man Utd fans, but when they're losing and you can have some fun with them? That makes up for it a little :p

Lukaku? He's been brilliantly anonymous. Last year's game against Villa was similar to this years, we drew it 1-1. This year? Lukaku takes the chances and it's 3-0. Zenit parked the bus in spectacular fashion, a nailed on 0-0 last season. This year? Lukaku got one chance and it was game over.

It's a bit strange though, he's had 6 chances in 4 games (scored 4 goals).. which is a great ratio. The rest of the time he's been completely anonymous. Compare that with Werner last year who would miss 3 sitters, be caught offside twice and then make a run that would set up someone (which would usually result in another sitter being missed).. all in the first 20 minutes of a game :-D

It's very different.

I'm not really sure about the numbers, but I just know from watching that we are still not creating enough chances. I had the United Stand on there and Goldbridge was talking about the chances created for the position number 9. But anyway, ''we'll bounce back''. :D Yes, I've been hearing that one for years. It never gets old.

Watching how Liverpool played tonight against Milan. It was an enjoyable game. The Liverpool defense was caught out at the end of the first half and I'm sure Klopp went to town on them, but at the other end, they are creating chances and playing nice football. Happy ending for them as well.

I see Man City had no problems scoring tonight either.

I was a big fan of the Leipzig kit. I suppose that's one of the advantages of being a young club, not bound by tradition. You want to rock up at the Etihad dressed like a Wham Bar? Why the hell not!

Tradition is overrated. :p The Wham Bar is taking me to the high school tuck shop. Other kids getting their sugar rush and buying 10 at a time.

I see Mr. Bellingham had another stunner tonight. Wow, don't want to go overboard, but these performances make me. He keeps this up and he has to be in contention for the first 11 at the World Cup.

Same  love a Wham Bar, even just seeing the shirt had my mouth watering. Those little sour rock things in the middle are powerful. It was either those or that weird rainbow puffy stale rice things. I can't remember what they're called, must of wiped it from my memory.

I only saw the Bellingham highlights and Rio/Michael Owen talking about him in that new BT after show set in a dungeon. He did look great though, he's started the season in red hot form. He has to play, for me. Calvin Phillips has done well, but a top quality, cultured ball player in the middle who's on the same level of the Italians and your Pedi/Busquets? It's potentially a game changer for this England side.

Good win for West Ham against Rennes on their European return.

City fans telling Pep to stick to coaching after his pleas for more fans to show up. ''Maybe it is time for the owner to pay Oasis 10 billion to reunite for a half-time show. It will be bigger than the Super Bowl.'' :D

Just saw your post. Yeah, I was listening to the watchalong and getting all excited when I heard Kyle Walker was sent off. Everybody saying clear penalty on the chat thing but then var took forever and no red or penalty. Damn it.

City fans sound as done with Sterling as we are with Martial. Perhaps a swap is in order.

Lingard already assisted Young Boys for the win, Ole better make sure he doesn't play against West Ham tomorrow so the lad doesn't get even more confused lol.

City with a goalless draw at home against Saints. This time can they please not go on some crazy winning streak later...

Yeah, there's always the danger of that with City.

Even so, it's good to see them dropping a few points. Chelsea have had a brutal start (Liverpool, Man City, Tottenham, Arsenal, Villa in the first 6 games). Being in touch with City after that run would be huge.

yeah, so why exactly was that penalty overturned? The only reason I can see is because they are Manchester City playing at home.....

Been saying it all summer but the real threat to Chelsea and United will be Liverpool. Completely different team with VVD healthy. They're the biggest threat. I honestly expect City to have a disappointing year with their lack of a striker.

You could well be right on that. Liverpool have looked very good.

Only thing i'll say about that is they've played Norwich, Burnley, Palace and Leeds (who haven't got going yet). Only good side they've played is Chelsea, and they needed a bit of luck with the penalty and red card to get back into the game... then did nothing with the advantage.

I'll need to see how they do against some better sides first, but they certainly could be legit. Can only play what's in front of you, right?

Very true - though it's also key to remember that usually the team that wins the league are the ones that can regularly pound the guppy teams. So Liverpool has passed that test so far. I think Liverpool is legit and last year was just a combination of unfortunate injuries, lack of intensity after winning the year before, etc.

The league is stacked this year. Whoever wins it will certainly have earned it.

This is true.

Chelsea only playing top 6 calibre sides so far is very different to the mid to low table teams. Those who park the bus might be as tough to beat as the good sides.

Those who say "it's too early to make predictions" might have a point

It is a brutal start absolutely but I don't think playing Arsenal has anything to do with that. :p

I'd pay 100m for Rice on football manager. More. I'm not going to cry about the midfield forever. Unless they make a catastrophic mistake like one missed pass a game.

Yes, Ronaldo did initiate contact with the defender. ref and var having none of it. Booo.

Just rewound. Shambolic to not award the penalty to Ronaldo. First two where he initiated contact fine. If that little soft play on Shaw is one the other one definitely is. Get bent Martin Atkinson.

Did Euro final not teach them anything? I can understand a keeper being brought on to save a penalty. Stepping up to take one is different. haha and at least Gareth Southgate gave them a couple of minutes. This was first kick of the game. haha Classic Hollywood style ending. Yes, obviously I love it because DDG saved the penalty. Yay.
