I thought this would be an interesting match to discuss.

So, despite the 261 positions of difference I don't expect this to be an easy task for Gricasso the Camel Jockey, who, after an amazing start of the year, has been struggling and losing early in every Tournament except Madrid and is 3/4 on Clay this year. On the other hand, the Spanish Veteran, who's recovering from an injury at 35, is 6/10 this year (5/8 on Clay), having been able to win two matches in a row only in Marrakech, the second being exactly against Dimitrov.

Robredo leads the Head-to-Head by 3-1, including 2-0 on Clay and their last meeting: the already mentioned Marrakech R16 (Robredo d. Dimitrov 6-4 1-6 6-1). The only encounter won by Grigor has been the 2014 ATP 1000 Canada R16 Match (7-5 5-7 6-4). They've never played a Best-Of-Five Match against each other and only their very first Meeting (2013 ATP 500 Barçelona R32, Robredo d. Dimitrov 7-5 6-1) didn't go to a decider.
Since it's the only Match I didn't report, I'll add that Robredo won the R32 meeting at 2015 ATP 1000 Indian Wells by 6-4 1-6 7-5.

An interesting stat about Dimitrov in 2017: out of the 8 Matches he lost, 6 went to a Decider, and in 4 of these he won the First Set.

Update: They're Scheduled to be the second match on Court 1, after Mattek-Sands vs [15] Kvitova, which is supposed to start at 11.00 AM local time.

Very interesting match indeed. I did not watch Robredo yesterday, did you?
I watched Dimi and he was very up and down. When he was facing breakpoints he pulled himself together and played better. But he managed to get broken to a player that is 36 years old I think and should have beaten easily. So not impressed by Domi. Think Robredo has a chance (anyone has a chance really)

Same as you: didn't watch Tommy and have the same impressions about Grigor. One thing I liked is he's been extremely clutch with Break Opportunities (I think he's been 6/6 at some point). Still, he almost let Robert hook him in a set he was leading by 5-1  You can't afford that against Robredo.

Given his current run on clay, anything can happen with Grigor. In theory he should win this with ease, but I can see Robredo picking up the win here.

Picking Robredo in 4 close sets. Dimitrov just can't hit through this surface and his flamboyant creativity isn't for RG.

Dimi not yet bored of Boredo, c'mon focus and take this set. You're 26 now. But where are the usual suspects ?

PCB on clay will be a stern test if he wins here

Yessir... Busta is no donkey on clay, tough opponent.

EDIT - For all the animal rights activists, I don't know if donkeys are bad on clay..... its just that most people are pretty condescending towards donkeys on most surfaces.
