13-3 Nadal-Schwartzman last 16 points. All according to Rafa's plans.

I don't think another delay will reverse the effect of the first delay.

As an impartial fan of tennis, it's always funny to see the haters of either Fed or Nadal come out in full force in these threads. In this thread obviously Nadal-haters, whenever Fed is doing poorly the Fed haters are out in full force.

Of course now the typical Nadal-haters are out, whining about the MTO, time wasting, now the rain, yadayadayada.

More often than not when there is some random event such as rain delay/MTO/toilet break, the person with momentum loses it. While I do agree with your post, I feel like most pros aren't able to deal with these things actually.
Another rain delay whilst Nadal was serving for the set. Schwartzman saved by rain delay

Nadal’s got to be one of the most unlikeable players on tour. I don’t understand how anyone can like his style of play.
Add to that the fact that he needs every trick in the book and help outside of the tennis court to win his matches. The MTO’s, the time wasting, the intimidating looks and jumping up and down, gorilla-like screaming when hitting the ball, on court coaching, benefitting from rain delays. And this all has nothing to do with the unlikeable way that he actually plays tennis.

Grass can't come soon enough. Bored by this already. We're playing, no we're not, yes we are, nope, back to the showers, wait, rain has stopped. Ha! think again, starts to rain harder. Better luck tomorrow. Maybe...

Never thought Schwartzman has a shot in this game, got some hopes just to see the weather destroy it once again. Nadal really has to have booked all the luck over the years. I mean, yeah props to him coming out after any rain delay so focused but anyway gets lucky every time you are in serious trouble to get a rain delay. We have seen this story a couple of times.

He does what he needs to win. Like all great athletes.

Djokovic was screaming at the ball boys and the crowd yesterday.

It’s funny really. They’ve been on the court for 10 minutes and in those 10 minutes Schwartzman has lost the match that he otherwise might’ve won.

The rain break isn't totally to blame for this. To be quite honest, I'm shocked that such a thing as a rain delay can throw off a player's rhythm this much. Schwartzman is missing by miles now, or into the net when he wasn't earlier. That can't only be blamed on rain or Nadal being "saved" by it. It's time for us to look at Diego and stop moaning about Nadal.

Well if you don’t want to be bored then why do you want the Grass to come?

Fed's MTO's vs. Stan and Rafa in AO18 were clearly legitimate though, right?

:p

I just got home from work in time for the resumption. I've no idea how this guy went up a set. He played like a third rate mug in those 4 games.

well said - pretty factual and lucid summary (not mentioning the "Therapeutic Use Exemptions" for steroids he has used in the past)

"As a Federer and nadal fan the Wimbledon 2008 match is the greatest ever and nothin else in tennis matters"
Ok I'll acknowledge the fact that it was one of the greatest matches ever but why does that guy always use that phrase in all his posts? LOL

Hasn’t roger gotten help before when it comes to rain delays or does he usually lose those matches? I am trying to remember some matches

Build a roof over Paris I want to watch tennis!
For the last damned time, they ARE building the roof!

They were stuck in the courts because the surrounding neighbourhoods were campaigning against grounds expansion but it looks like the courts have ruled in the tournament's favour.

Diego should throw up some lobs after the break. Rafa isn't smashing them too well today.

The only match I remember was when the rains came at Wimbly 2012 F, and the match became an indoor match.

We know what happens when mury plays indoors.
