He is clearly in Rafa's head
Rafa is 6-1 H2H at the French.
Will be interesting to see if Novak can take him out on clay.

To be fair if nadal came through with som formidable opponents I might say this means something but he didnt. One of the most frustrating things for Fed, Nadal and Murray fans alike is that Novak always ups his level against them. Nadal has been in the better form all tournament but then Novak comes out and plays like this.
Credit to him. It's crazy to think he's playing at this kind of level at 31 years old
I dont get why people are so bewildered, yes Rafa could play much better but he had legit faced nobody that could really push him before the finals and as @Hitman said his new and approved serve is still not better than feds and unfortunately as I recall Novak is never troubled by feds serve
It's important to keep things in perspective. Rafa wasn't supposed to have a great tournament. Most people on this board thought he wouldn't make it here after Brisbane.
This is a serious beatdown tho
This match has showed me that Rafa has lost a step in his movement. That is the main difference from 7 years ago and this court is faster which is giving him even less time.
Welcome back.
Rafa fans, do you ever wish he breaks a racket? Like today would be a good occasion
Add to that s surface and court that novsk has excelled on. Not like novsk doesnt have 6 Aos or anythingFans starting the injury bs...of course it’s not that Novak is great and also is in Nadal’s head? Rafa has to press more because, all respect to them, Nole isn’t Duckworth, Ebden and the like. No Nadal fan wanted to hear it when people said his draw was weak and did him no favors.
This just goes to show that when one of the top guys plays nothing but MUGS all the way up to a final you can't put the trophy in his hands before the match starts.
Last time I can recall it to this extent was Tsonga v Nadal AO Semi 2008.I've rarely seen Nadal outplayed to such a degree deep in a slam.
What a humiliation.... Probably the worst defeat in a slam final to Nadal.
Lmao maybe it sounds better coming from a fed fanExactly, I mentioned this, but that I was getting beaten up for saying what I thought.
