Waiting for the matches to finally get interesting - may have to wait for the semi finals. All the big 3 are just demolishing everyone. Zzzzz where are the good players?

Yeah. Only reason it might not be is if they decide to give Pella a couple more hours rest after his long match today. But I doubt that.

Pella's match wasn't a long (in time) one. I don't think it's be a factor. I think Pella's tournament so far is more likely to dictate when he's scheduled.

It's likely 1 of the Big 3 will win this unless Agut pulls out in my opinion the biggest underdog story in OE since Johansson winning the Aussie.

And you have to think Federer becoming the oldest Slam winner male or female is the nicest story. Novak tying Borg with 5 titles seems so odd and yet cements him in the GOAT debate.

Nadal winning this will stink worse than that 2017 USO because his style of playing equaling as many trophies as McEnroe and Becker is ludicrous.

As a Federer fan, if Nadal wins this slam I think he becomes the GOAT if Federer ends up winning no more majors.

I mean I sort of see your point on Nadal but is Djokovic really that different style of playing wise from Nadal. There are some minor differences I guess, but they are essentialy very similar. I would think Novak winning 5 would be worse than Nadal 3 by that logic.

Has Darren Cahill started rubbing anyone else the wrong way? It's been a few months in the making at least, but I realized I no longer enjoy him as an on air personality when he desperately tried to get Rafa to talk trash about Nick despite Rafa not wanting to and clearly not being comfortable with the discussion.

The weeks at #1 and 0 WTFs won't go away as a counter to him though. He'll also still be on 1 AO. But I'm in the camp that looks at Nadal aside from the Slam titles (even if it was 24-20 there are too many other fields Federer dominates).

Novak is a superior returner with the better serve. He's a rich man's Andre Agassi who himself made a Final and 3 semis in addition to his winning run. Two of those semifinals saw him lose to Rafter in 5. So I think Novak winning 5 of 6 finals appearances is more of him capitalizing on his opportunities where Agassi failed and on top of that just being better than Andre. Nadal's style is different from Novak not only with the loopy spin but the abundance of upset losses when the grass wasn't chewed up.

I guess I see your point but both are essentialy still agressive counterpunching baseliners with amazing defense. And I think Novak's significantly superior serve is a fairly recent thing, I dont think that was always the case. I do like the rich mans Agassi assessment though, and I agree that couldnt easily be made for Nadal.

And his Halep bias is annoying AF. He talks as if she were his daughter. Patrick McEnroe isnt even nearly this biased when commentating his brothers Senior tour matches years ago. Or John when commentating his brothers tour matches in the 90s.

I hope to god Halep doesnt win this Wimbledon just for his smug celebrations on air alone.

Boring Wimbledon today for me. The second Tuesday has always been the worst day of Wimbledon for me as there are no men's matches.
I actually quite like it this way. First, it's more balanced for the players: all quarters the same day, semis the same day and then final with 1 day off in between each. You don't have that 1 day or 2 day rest business in 2nd week which I find unfair. Second, it gives me a chance to enjoy some WTA matches, because when ATP and WTA are together, I tend to prioritize ATP just because current ATP rivalries at the top are so exciting. (I used to be a huge Seles fan and I would have picked Graf/Seles matches over a lot of men's matches but right now nothing in WTA matches the intensity of the ATP big 3's rivalry )

I agree that it's the right balance. I just couldn't be any less interested in the women's game.

Hopefully we get at least 1 good match in the next few days. This has been a super underwhelming tournament so far. Did enjoy a bit of Sousa vs Evans, but not much else really.

Commentators were mentioning that this is Rafa's 8th semi-final in a row, the most of the big 3. Curious: how many of those 8 have also included both Novak and Roger? I know that Roger has been eliminated in the QF's a few times.

It's amazing that the big 3 are all in the semis in 2019. Glad that Roberto is there with them this year!

No. It is his 6th in a row. He lost in the quarters to Cilic in AO 2018, he has done six straight since.

Only twice since 2012 have the big 3 all made the last 4 in a slam. This Wimbledon and the FO 2019

Absurd comments. Rafael plays a beautiful grass game.

Rafa: "I'm so glad to be back at Roland Garros".

Roger: "This is the US Open you idiot!"

Novak: " How come I look older than these guys when I'm the youngest?"

His analysis of what separates Djokovic from Goffin was quite interesting, IMHO. I like Gilbert as a commentator. He was a very smart player, and is much less annoying than Wilander.
I don't know what he said but Goffin has no serve. You cannot beat a big 3 on grass without a serve. That's why there was no match.
That is possibly the worst serving performance I have ever seen in the latest stages of W. Shame because this match was not a big indicator of Djoko's form at all.
