Swiatek hits a more solid topspin forehand than the vast majority on tour.

Largely a function of her more ATP-like technique. Compact, loose, effective forehand.
Either I'm blind or we have different concepts of "compact, loose forehands", because Iga's FH is as stiff as the modern ATP forehand.

Iga is super impressive. I haven’t been watching a great deal of the tournament but she’s punishing the ball.

She really is. She's gained a lot of fans this tournament. I hope she can keep this level of play up the rest of her career and just get better and better.

Hope she doesnt have one great tournament ala Ostapenko and then kind of go away.

the trademark of the modern ATP forehand is that the takeback is shorter (more compact) and the wrist stays loose which creates the wrist lag.

That's why you see much more of this wrist lag with the typical male player. But Swiantek has it too.

Jeezus, people talking about ATP-style forehand being the difference. Very typical TTW lameness. That's not the difference.

If there is a shot that Swiatek is using to gain the upper-hand, it is her *backhand*. Not the forehand. Her backhand sets up her forehand.

I'll agree to disagree from watching every match she'd played this tournament.
