Federer and Del Potro

Novak was moving in so he would've lost the point. If he rolled the return back in Novak would have an easy volley putaway.

I'd make him hit the easy volley though after some of the misses he was spraying in that game. Make him hit the easy volley and hope he FAA's it. Only has to one time for the break.

I actually agree with you, and Zverev probably didn't know Novak was moving in when he struck that ball.

Just saying he literally would have lost that particular point if he did what you said.

Zverev's return pace more feeble than Federer chip returns
Yeah, I think this is another point where Federer's stubbornness often killed him and was another part in deciding the GOAT race. He refused to take the superior return position a few meters behind the baseline where he could have taken full swings. I have a feeling he just thought it's "cool" to stand at the baseline.

It's like Djokovic has 10 layers to his game.

Serve, serve +1 , Rally, Droppers.

But he is vulnerable. If Z actually has a head on his shoulders he would know that he has gotten very close twice in 3 service games of Djokovic already, while his service has been safer.

This can be done. If he doesn't panic he can do this.

Theres basically the difference, at the important points novak comes up with things like this, thats what new players havent been able to do yet, zverev is just trying to blast the ball left and right, very powerful, very deep, but very simple tennis
