Asterisk unless Med, Thiem, or Zverev win

So, while I dont like the call, and think it ruins the tourney legitimacy. I always thought Med had a great chance to beat Djoker in the final, and think Thiem had a chance as well.

Zverev less likely, but he has beat him on fast HC in a big final.

If anyone else wins, it has an asterisk, because no one else would have beat Djoker.

I dislike Djoker more than anyone on this forum, but in order to win the slam you need to beat the best or beat the player who beat the best. Neither will happen. Asterisks for all those that would have no chance to beat Djoker.

Can we possibly even list all circumstances that make tennis in the last half of 2020 crazy.

They could have just cancelled the event but they really wanted to give us fans some tennis this year. Atria tour was a disaster. But World Team Tennis and bubble events like Lexington show how these events can go on.

I think so too. Yes it can be argued that the bubble is psychologically difficult on favorites and any of the new protocols could affect a favorites chances.
But almost every thing is equal as much as it can be. Lower ranked players will still face higher ranked seeds. But all the protocols being equal for everyone this event offers new challenges to overcome. Whomever, whoever wins should be celebrated.
