I'm sure I can't be the only one here with a bit of an anger problem out on the court. It's taken care of these days, for the most part, but there are times I'll admit that I miss the sweet feel of smashing a racquet into the court after a frustrating double fault or missed forehand. So, I'll go first and list the racquets I've broken:
-An old Head racquet I used when I first started playing, it was some ****ty oversize. It really started the whole trend of racquet abuse for me. I've bounced it off the court and over the fence of our local courts. Finally, I cracked it over the netpost, and proceeded to smash the hell out of it on the ground.
-Two Babolat Pure Drive Roddicks. The first I broke in half on the ground after a missed volley in a game of doubles I believe. The other actually ended up breaking on a forehand, though that was due to cracks from some of my outbursts.
-A Jack Kramer Pro Staff woodie. This was probably my favorite racquet I ever played with. It was the only racquet where I felt like I had total control and could swing as hard as I wanted without having to worry about overhitting. But, I was mad about other things one day, and let those issues get in my head during a friendly game, and proceeded to smash the **** out of it. There's another wooden one I enjoyed playing with that I broke as well, but the paint was coming off and I'm not totally sure what it was.
