I go for Nadal in 3 sets, depending which version of him appears. Alexander has a great BH and if Nadal continue giving loopy short balls cross-court, he will have a long night ahead him. Still, I dont think the german is ready to defeat him in clay. Not for now...

According from what we watched today, he does have a shot definitely, but that depends which version of Nadal shows

Yes. Also, I think even if they are both in-form, Zverev should be a very lively underdog. His current game suits clay, it seems to me, and Nadal's short and looping topspins will be punished hard by Sascha, FH & BH. I still believe Nadal has a few tricks to prevail and this match is intriguing.

Hard to predict. On one side we have an inform Zverev who looked superb today and the other side we have an average Nadal who is prone to mental lapses. I'll still go with the latter in 3 just because he is the clay GOAT.

FH is a work in progress while already decent and powerful, but his 1st serve is big enough to cause problems. He may need to learn to be more clutch with serving and improve his 2nd serve a bit more, I agree.

Stat for two matches doesn't mean a lot. Thiem checked in from Nice with nearly 60% on points for the tournament. He did exceptionally well at RG, then Stuttgart, and finally ran out of gas in Halle SF (some of his best tennis outside of serve and FH.)I have noticed that sometimes your partially stat-driven predictions turn out to be a kiss of death for your pick... beware

With Zverev before the clay season I was hoping he'd improve as much as has on hard courts recently, so possibly greater than 53% of points for the season versus last season. He's had a great start padding those stats with his first two Monte Carlo matches. Its looking like he's a better clay player than hard (grass may be best.) Zverev is cleaning up on return winning 54% of return points in his last two matches.
If the real Rafa doesn't show up again Zverev will win easily.

Nadal has a history of ups and downs. He will be sharper for Zverev, but not sharp enough is my guess. This will be an awesome match much like their encounter in Auz.

If Zverev is as good as many here think he is, he should definitely win this match. Nadal looked pretty bad in the second round and is hitting ridiculously short. Still I think Z will lose in straights despite Nadal's lousy form.

I think this will be a 3-setter. Zverev the Younger has stretched the Bull the distance in their 2 previous encounters. Great opportunity to pad his lead in the "Race to Milan" (ROFLMAO) if he wins tomorrow

huh what? He didn't beat Nadal. He was up 2-1 in sets if you're referring to if it was a Bo3 match. You're forgetting that RLA HC was way faster whereas MC is very slow. Zverev's defense will be tested today and his mental strength considering he is going up against Nadal on clay. If he pulls this off, kudos but I don't see it happening yet.
