Will need to get them out on the court for a true stability test but definitely more cushion
I am curious to know how your on-court experience has been in regards to torsional stability? FDZ's video shows no shank exists in this shoe and I am curious as to if you feel this shoe lacks resistance to twisting?

Haven't been able to get out in them yet. I decided to wait on a better color because i will wreck the all-whites on clay... But i am really looking forward to a playtest. Will post it as soon as i do.

I don't see anything about 9.5, only 11

This is the continuation Shoes after the Vapor 10 shoes that Federer was wearing. It is supposed to be light and performance oriented. Not sure if it is better than vaporr 10 and vapor 9 though. Wonder if the cushioning is better at least ??

Anyone using these shoes currently? Coming off the vapor pro 1 and traction is gone. Do these feel as good as the predecessor? How are these compared to the Vapor 11?

My opinion is that this is a worthy upgrade to the Vapor Pro 1. If you liked the 1, you'll like the 2 (I never liked the 1, but I still like the 2).

Less inward tilt, more cushioning (still minimal feeling though), same stability without the plastic sidewall, more accommodating upper.

Heel was a sloppy fit for me and the lacing system dug into my ankle - so I didn't keep these.

Am I seeing this right? It would seem that there is an extra lace hole on the lateral side compared to the medial side?

The cushioning is not great. They caged the midsole almost completely in a rubber carrier so it’s relatively stiff.

Hey everyone,

I've been a lurker on this thread for a while now and thought I would give a review on the Vapor Pro 2's as I've had them for a little over a month. I was really anticipating these so I ordered them the day they were up.
I'm a self rated 4.0 player and speed is my weapon. I'm an aggressive mover so I go through shoes rather fast and usually opt for more durable shoes. I learned this the hard way after getting the Vapor Flyknits and burning a hole in the side of them from sliding in the first week.

To give a brief shoe resume' from my first shoe back in 2015 to current:
Lunar Ballistic, Vapor Flyknit, Barricade, Cage 3, Gel Rez 8, FF2, Vapor Cage 4, NXT court Zoom, Court React Vapor NXT and now the Pro 2.

The Vapor Pro 2's really stood out to me for a couple reasons. First the price tag and second it seemed to be a (somewhat) durable speed shoe which is pretty rare. Seeing that slide guard on the side of the shoe was very appealing to me since that's where the majority of my damage comes through on shoes.
I ordered a half size down as I typically do in tennis shoes and they fit well. The stiffness is very apparent and took a solid 2 hitting sessions to loosen up. I had difficulties getting the shoe to "lock in" and what helped me is swapping the laces out for "Lock Laces". I used these on my Cage 4's and they really made a difference.

After a month of using them on different surfaces (outdoor, indoor and clay) they're holding up very well. There's some scrapes/damage on the inside back heel from me dragging my back foot which doesn't surprise me given how much the heel sticks out.
I'm curious how this will be in 6 months but the slide guard and tread are holding up very well.

These aren't for everyone as they're a little stiff and require some tweaking to get it fit my style but overall I'm very happy with them and will eventually buy a clay version too.

Hope this helps someone who is on the fence!

How would you compare the Vapor Pro 2 with the Resolution 8 and the Court FF2?

+1 for lurking

How would you consider the toebox (not overall) width of the Vapor Pro 2 compared to these previous models if you had to rank them?

I like how the toebox fits. I have a narrower foot so usually Adidas shoes aren't the best for me since they're a little wider in the toebox.
I would say it's a similar toebox to the NXT Zoom and Cage 4. I don't have any issues with toejamming at all and there's enough room without it feeling big.
The NXT React had a very large toebox and I had to wear two pairs of socks to compensate.
You could say that the stiffness of the shoe plays into how the toebox feels.

Hope this helps!

How would you compare the Vapor Pro 2 with the Resolution 8 and the Court FF2?

I personally wasn't a fan of the Gel Rez 8. The sole felt very flat and linear as opposed to the dynamic sole and design of the FF2. I have a high arch and narrow foot which isn't a good match for the Gel Rez.
The FF2's were definitely my favorite shoe but I had an issue with the slide guard and was still burning though the side (I think my slide technique is poor, haha). But I stopped wearing them because I thought they weren't making anymore and the colors were usually pretty lacking. But I'm interested in the FF3!

I would say the Pro 2's feel like a very stripped down, budget version of the FF2. They are surprisingly lacking in shoe technology compared to the FF2 but I like the weight, durable side guard and saving around $50 is pretty solid too.

Hope this helps!

My biggest gripe is that they changed the tread pattern. The vapor pro/vapor x outsole was so unique and did such a good job at gripping har-tru courts. These are going to be absolutely brutal on clay courts. And the shoe just looks totally different. Heavier, wider, etc. As a store manager, people are going to want to upgrade their vapor pro and I'm going to have to spend so much time explaining how this is nothing like the previous version. I usually don't get too frustrated with companies but this is perplexing. Are they really trying to lean on the vapor 9.5 as a total re-issue thats widely available? if that is the case, then ok. But it seems like the vapor 9.5 release is more of a one-off for people who liked that shoe in the past. Could be wrong.
Do you think the vapor pro 2 outsole wont be very durable? They look extremely thin.

How does it compare to the old XDC rubber old nikes had? Same durability or worse?

Looks a a big gap in the heel for Alacaraz in the first photo, so he doesn't subscribe to the soccer cleats fit school. Does anyone who has these sized up from the Cage 4 or React Vapors? I am thinking of going a half size up in the VP2...

My friend is trying the VP2.. he plays 3-5 times a week and the soles are already worn in less than three weeks. He doesn’t slide or anything.. we were shocked. He’s returning them..
