Prince Official - Racquets

I have both the ATS 95 and ATS 98.
95's racquet head is more stable and solid on impact. 95 has more control, is more accurate and is a modern player's racquet with a crisp but comfortable feel.

98 is a bit lighter and has a tad more power. In between a player's racquet and a tweener racquet. Launch angle is slightly higher but not unusually high. However, it is prone to some shots that unexpectedly fly high and long. Likely because of the longer mains in the 98 (head width is the same as 95). As @jmacdaununder2 says, the 98 is more "snow shoe shaped".

Spin generation is about the same.

If you are a higher level player and aren't dependent on the racquet to provide power then the 95 is the better choice between the two.

That's my 2 cents ... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Thanks for the info! The launchiness was what I was worried about, as I found the ATS 95 powerful enough (I use poly in the crosses and multi/syn gut in the mains), and 23 mm seems pretty thick.

I am currently hitting with an old exo3 tour 98, which looks like it has a very similar shape to the ATS 98 but with a 21 mm beam. Although narrow, it does feel slightly more forgiving than the 95 while still offering good control, but it may be that the exo3 tour is wider than the ATS. I really like it but had been thinking I might pick up an ATS 98 as a backup next time they went on sale.

I just don't know what's going on with Prince. Impossible to keep up. Sorry.

If you are in North America you can currently get it on sale at ra*****guys.com or.ca

Saw someone at a beginner class yesterday using the Thunderbolt. Prince is back everyone
I saw the new Thunderbolt at DSG last night. I like the new graphics, but when I pressed with my thumb on the graphite inside the throat, I can feel it flex. The material on the throat area feels very thin. None of the other racquets did that. It might be fine for beginners that don't take full cuts at the ball. But I am a little suspicious of the quality on that frame.

To be fair I don't remember seeing a good racquet at a sporting goods store

It's been rather chilly lately, so I've restrung both my ATS 100 and my Extrme Tour NITE to lower tensions w/ the same cord. Well, almost.
Lynx tour 125 on top of RPM Rough 20.5kg in the ET and 22kg in the ATS. With a few more inches and one less cross, I thought a bit more tension would help with control.
The ATS still feels better, with better feed back. But the ET itself still feels great and has excellent feed back as well.
The ET has more control, the ATS has a bit more spin and free power/forgiveness.
Both are weighted up to 330ish, but the ATS is still a bit more head heavy. It likes to slug it out, and the ET prefers more places on the court.
Very similar, but very different. The ET rewards precision rather well. The ATS wants you to take it by the scruff and show it who's boss.

I played a couple of sets with my doubles partner the last few days. I found myself abandoning the ET. The ATS just works better for me
I mean, even when I shank a ball it feels good with this frame. And the firm hoop with the flexible everything else is a great combo.
I just get great mix of control, power, feel, and spin. I know the paint job hints at it, but it's as though Prince made a great feeling Pure Strike.
Now if they could just make a great-looking ATS :)

Sometimes feel is just king.

I've been looking forward to the Pure Strike update for what feels like forever and now I'm pretty chill about when I get to try them out because I'm just that happy with the Tour 310.

The 2024 O3 Legacy 105 & 120 are listed on the web site.
ZYLON { ** } is the new addition to the layup.
I do like the new color.
Hoping the 110 will show up, so I can add too my collection of O3 110 going back to the original Blue.
they should make an O3 Legacy Tour & 100 (ie: The O3 Tour and O3 White)

@aus89
I agree with the following caveat.

PRINCE should not use the Legacy name for those frame designs as it describes the power line.
Heritage edition is the name they have used for updates of older molds.
My avatar is the European released O3 Tour 100_2020
They have the the o3 Beast 100 mold that they could use to create an updated White, much like the Japan release.
There will not be a 110. I guess I'll have to try the smaller frame.

I just wish they'd bring back the Tour 100 18x20 and 16x18 frames - the orange/black ported models. These were the absolute pinnacles of the o-ports, still play and love mine.
I think the main problem is Prince went for a control frame with their current 03 Tour. 8 mains through the throat, 16X19. They tried to split the difference between 1618 and 1820.
The Tour line competes with speeds and Pure Strikes is the message Prince has sent out with the ATS paint job, after all.
I mean, they made an 18X20 non port version with 6 mains in the throat...that thing with ports might sell as well.
Had they stuck with the same pattern as the 16X18 Tour, I think it would have been a more successful frame(as far as port frames go).
The current 03 Tour is woefully underpowered and very low on easy spin. The top cross is so high it makes that part of the hoop dead.
In fact, I suggest when you are stringing it that you start by skipping the top cross for a 16X18 pattern, and string it at rather low tensions.
It makes the top of the hoop more lively and doesn't seem to affect the control in the least.

Personally, I always thought an 18X20 Warrior at 64RA woulda been a tough frame.

I skip the top cross on my Legacy 110' .I found it works better since my habit is to hit high in the racket face. String breakers may not find this useful .

Ugh, I got a wild hair and I strung my 03 Tour with something a bit more powerful and had a great time playing with it this evening.
I did half of it with the ATs and half with the o3, and the partner said I played better with the o3.

After using TXT 310 2019 version and Radical MP Auxetic, I just got the Phantom 100X as it was on sale. I used the Phantom 100X before, but sold it to my despair.

The 100X just make life on court easy for you. Huge sweetspot, easy spin, enough power to take big cuts. For singles I'll be using the 100X and the TXT 310 for doubles.

Many people who think they are good enough to use a 98' should be using a 100', in my opinion. Im a UTR 8/9

Anyone here played with both the T-Fight 305 and the ATS 95 and have a comparison
305 is better from behind the baseline and on returns. Ats was easier to keep in the court and easier to attack with especially mid court.

Both have good access to similar variety despite different specs

I haven't been able to commit to them, but keep Demoing it. Can't figure out the "stickiness" of the stringbed, but it is at times good... It's a bit overly powerful/stable on touch shots at times but also keeps the ball in the court at higher pace... Great shape on the ball

Main reason I grabbed one is because the 305s are a bit hefty (since I'm getting back into tennis after a 7-8 year layoff) plus it's a bit tough on the OHBH. I used to play with the 90 and loved the box beam so figured the ATS will be an easier/more friendly version since I heard it gives a surprising amount of power.

Also tested out the CX200 and Head Extreme Tour and didn't really gel with them. Also have minor racquet buying addiction so....

Hoping I can commit soon :-D

Prestige Tour might be worth trying too. Similar category but much better on flats.

Demoing both right now

Anyone here a believer in Recoil weight?
The Synergy 98 feels like a pillow at contact, yet it’s still rock solid stable (the way I like my frames to be lol) but when I compare it to my other racquets it definitely has more recoil.

Also found brand new Diablo Tour for Dirt cheap on marketplace (came with Confidential) I’m not a fan of the string set up with the round 100” head. There is far to much dwell time for my liking (even with me adding 8g of lead @ 3&9 & 2g @ 10&2, coming in at 341g with shoickie & overgrip)

Need to give it a fair shake with the tried and true Pros Pro Poly

Let me know your thoughts! I have a few old Prestiges lying around. Flexpoint Mid and Microgel MP that I didn't love (though they prob need a quick restring to test properly).

Flexpoint mid was my first racket. These rackets are the most comparable right now. The Prestige Classic 2.0 is pretty good too.

Get our boy a sponsorship
Realistically how much money do you think he’s leaving on the table to use the 100p?

Why can’t he just get it painted to whoever is willing to sponsor him (what Dunlop has done in the past)

That paint is much better than the TW offering. The JP paint is best. The textreme series from 2019/2020 was best. No wonder Pouille still using it.
Honestly did not expect a colour update.
The first run couldn’t have sold too well? Unless they are almost out of the inventory/stock and Prince suits think a revamp might sell a couple more frames to those who already have one?? and this Is marginally not as horrific looking...not as much of as eye sore, lol

Yeah, the gray slightly lessens the randomness, but overall, I'd like to see these asymmetrical blotchy paint jobs (that so many makers are doing, not just Prince) go bye bye, or at least be lessened in their intensity -- at the very least, they're questionable design taste, but at the worst, they can absolutely cause players who are visually sensitive enough to favor holding the racquet in one flipped orientation over the other, causing uneven wear on strings and grips. I know that may seem like obsessive splitting of hairs to many, but I string for enough players who've remarked that they tend to hold the frame in such a way ("I tend to hold it this way, so I can see the _____, whenever I serve", etc.), and it can absolutely kill certain string setups faster -- I've seen it first happen firsthand. Make of that what you will.
