You seem to be the one with all the raging hormones in your family.

My wife’s hormones went back to normal around 2 months after she have birth to our son. So for Serena it has nothing to do with hormones. It’s just her real self when someone is kicking her ass. She just can’t accept it and instead of trying to compete that’s her No class at all response. That’s a result of the political correct world we live in. You wanted equality between the 2 genders and these are the results. Women and men have lost their true roles. Now it’s all about bi...ing around and creating movements to defend nonsense demands. Movements for food, movements for genders, all these kind of stuff that really separate us and create hostile environment. I am very angry for the world my son is gonna grow up.

Ramos is skrood foreva. He will be suicided this week. Well, prolly debadged. Or at the very least, he will never work this town again. I will be in my trailer!

Serena argues others have called umpires worse without penalty. However, claiming Carlos Ramos stole a game and was a thief questions the integrity of the chair, the integrity of the match, and the integrity of the game... and it really cannot be ignored. It crosses a line. Had it been her first or second violation of the match, it wouldn't have mattered much.

I'm not sure which was more satisfying though between Serena losing to Osaka or Serena losing to Vinci when she was going for the GRAND SLAM. I'd have to probably give the nod to the latter.

Serena got her a** kicked in Wimbledon final yet you saw a gracious behaviour there.

She got her a** kicked numerous times and accepted it. This has nothing to do with the fact that she was losing. It's the fact that she felt the Umpire made BS call.

Shouldn't be allowed.

But how can it be stopped? Remove the coaches? What's to stop player x hiring his coach's wife's third cousin to sit in the stands and get texts from the coach? He gets a text then yells out "approach short to the backhand" like a regular person in the stands.

Hallelujah! Nothing like watching a spoilt brat get whats coming. I hope they give Ramos her next match too, wherever it is.

Good on Osaka! She made my day for giving Queen Brat a tennis lesson.

Her father gave her sooooo confidence that makes her believe that she is above them all. He could have taught her some manners too and to show respect at her opponents.

Don't forget, it was also Racism, too. They clearly went after Serena to prevent a woman of colour from winning a championship.

Bull ****. Osaka out-played her the whole way. And, Serena's coach has admitted he was coaching her. So, Serena needed to keep her mouth shut. She has berated umpires and referees and linesmen/women for years. Finally, someone struck back.

that's not the point. Did Ramos go too far with Game penalty ? that is the question. Did Ramos Ego try to play a role in the US open final ?

I agree with your proposal. At least, coaches who continue to coach their player during the match could be asked to leave the stadium. It is also the fairest solution to punish the perpetrator of the crime rather than the intended beneficiary. Some coaches probably coach players even if the players ask them not to do so.
Good idea. Toss the guilty coach like they do with coach's in other sports. Make them leave the stadium.

She probably feels infinitely more entitled, and thus quicker to petulance when playing at home. I don't think there is particular over officiating when it comes to her, there is just a lot more eyes on it when it happens.

Women should be coddled since they are delicate flowers.

Serena when ever she realizes her butt handed to her in Us open she comes with moronic stuff. You guys remember Clijsters match ?? Same stuff.
Yes. Absolutely. The Same stuff. Clijsters match. Footfault called ....conspiracy against the goddess.
Sam stosur match, hindrance call. This is An outrage....an affront to Beyoncé...i mean Serena. Same thing.

Today? Gender bias! Social justice violation. Macro agression. Fight the powah. Need a safe space. Rena Did not really lose, despite some excellent coaching from mouraCHEATlu. I admire Patric! It was Very smart to tell her to hit down the meedol. Heet down the meedol, rena, because you will be outangled and outmaneuvered. It is rather obvious, oui? Très intelligent, monsieur Patric! I only wish the goddess had taken your advice.

But i yam so a pea naomi played fearlessly and knoocked out the win. Très bien, Naomi!

“But I cannot begin to count the number of times men have sat in their chairs on changeovers and had heated discussions with umpires, and nothing whatever happens.”

And how many of theses heated discussions involving men happened after they received a point penalty?

Those discussions don't result in even a warning many times

I still can't completely assimilate what I saw today. Serena is a veteran and a champion and should have held it together much better than she did, this I know! But I still can't reason my way through if the umpire was 100% in the right either.

I wouldn't expect the, erm, gentlemen here at TT to get it.

I think it needs to be said that Bad Boy Behavior on a tennis court is tolerated. And I feel confident that if Fognini or Kyrios or Federer were playing in the men's final close to the end of a set, *no umpire on the planet* would call that third code violation.

It is bias against Serena. I actually wanted Naomi to win, I was sick to death of the Mama ads, and I don't abide her sense of entitlement.

But even Serena deserves to be treated, well, . . . as well as Jared Donaldson, Fabio, Kyrios, and the countless men who sit in their chairs on changeovers and scream at and insult chair umpires.

Don’t you get it. No one on the current ATP has persisted with abuse after a penalty, let alone two.

Not really interested in discussing the specifics of this particular match, but in general, do you guys think that the officials at the US Open "over officiate" Serena Williams matches, as compared to the other slams? Or do you think the controversies that she's had there are just coincidental to the situation? Or do they over-officiate in general? It just seems like whenever there is a questionable call, or questionable penalty, or overreaction from Williams, or controversy in general it always happens at the US Open. What do you guys think? Is the officiating consistent or different?
I wouldn't say that, necessarily.

I would say that the officiating in the recent past has had too many questionable instances where officiating becomes the story. The officiating should be in invisible. If the officials are making decisions that are having a massive impact on the championship match, the officials need to step back.

I obviously didn't see every match this tournament, but I saw three notable instances where officials chose to become involved, sometimes at key moments, in ways they should not have.

One was the Kyrios pep talk -- which the USTA had the nerve to say publicly was just fine.

Second was Djokovic losing a first serve for shot clock in the semis, when I don't think he should have been.

Third was Serena being penalized for a changeover tirade when those are as common as can be -- for men, anyway.

I think ITF and the majors need to put these officials on a shorter leash, as no one watches a tennis match to see an umpire decide things.

It's very possible. But it also must be said that we don't know, because no man's (barring McEnroe when he was unaware of the rule change at the AO, and Serena doesn't have that excuse) ever come close to that point. Roddick at his whiniest worst only ever rated a warning because even a dude with his mouth knew when to shut it once he had gotten it out of his system.

But hey, I'm a 'gentleman here at TT', which if I'm reading the subtext correctly means I know ****-all, so hey.

Disgraceful from Serena, from crowd and Katrina Adams.
Shame on you.

It was appalling to say the least. From audience, to broadcasters, to trophy presenters, to even the meek confetti. It took away from a beautiful historic moment for WTA and Japanese tennis.

If anything we should be generating positivity for Naomi and if you wanna do that head on over to this thread. Lets not generate more about SW cause this is exactly what will take away from Osaka's amazing play, sportsmanship and win.

The solution isn't to take it easy on Serena — it's to crack down on everyone. ESPN commentators say you can't do anything about from-the-box coaching because everyone does it. Well, then the first time you see each coach do it, it's a warning. When they do it again, it's a point penalty. If you do that every match, then it won't happen anymore. The same idea as having a shot clock (though it's not being deployed well because of issues with ball catches and second serves, it's a start).

Serena makes a feminist argument that she should be able to behave as badly as the men, basically saying she did nothing wrong. If she wanted to make a principled stand, she should have admitted that what she did was wrong then ask for men to be treated the same way. I'm all for that. Her coach used as an example Rafa and Toni.

Imagine how many fewer slams Nadal would have now if umpires had treated him the same way — the correct way, as in enforcing rules — over the years.
Don't be ridiculous. Rafa would have no less slams, because when he's gotten a warning for coaching, he hasn't made a scene, calling the ump a thief and what not. He also hasn't broken a racket to get a point penalty.

fact is, men are treated no different. They also get warnings for coaching and for breaking rackets.
