Watching Suarez Navarro and Cepelova match. Never seem Cepelova before! Navarro is on a roll but looks like she going to collapse and Cepelova looks fresh but just got medical treatment! LOL! 6-4, 3-0 Navarro!

Watching the Babos, Gavrilova match. Gavrilova made a couple poor plays and lost her serve and then made more poor strategies like doing sharp angle shots that were out at critical points in a game while Babos just play it cool!
it is 5-3, Babos. Babos serving for the 1st set! But Gavrilova counterattacked and broke Babos, now 5-4!

Heheheh! Gavrilova at the end got her game together, took it 7-5! Now, that is a true comeback from adversity! Sort of a Justine Henin in the making! Player fear player like Gavrilova who can comeback on a dime to win it! Who would want to play against a player like Henin?

It's always hilarious how Radwanska turns up in the back end of the season. Usually it's just the Asian swing but last year she added New Haven to the list with a title there and looking to do the same again now. Prior to this week she was ranked 31st in the race to Singapore rankings.. Knowing her, she'll have a great Asian swing and qualify for the WTA finals once more. She was in the same sort of position last year like 20-30 in the race rankings despite being top 10 and then she made:
SF at Premier Tokyo
QF at Premier 5 Wuhan
Won Premier Mandatory Beijing
And then quickly played WTA International Tianjin where she made the QF which qualified her for Singapore and then subsequently withdrew with an "injury" but went on to play the WTA finals.

Classic Aga.

Wow, Kvitova's surgeon has released pics of what her hand looked like before and after surgery.

The before pic is not for the faint hearted so view it here:

And see the transformation after/now.

Whoaaaa. JUST SAW THE BEFORE PIC.

The fact that she can win Aegon already saying so much of Kvitova as a fighter.

Aaaaaargh!! Apparently I'm faint of heart.
Sorry guys, but I did warn you! And yes, very awful injuries. I never realized it was pretty much all her fingers/thumb on that hand. The attacker really did a number on her! But for her to be able to win a tournament a mere 6 months after that just shows how amazing she truly is.

K. Flipkens closing in on the W vs Ana Bogdan...Flipkens has to be one of the most tactically astute women's players out there! Wow!

I actually don't believe she'll pull that off this year, looking at her current level. I got slightly hopeful with her first two Rogers Cup matches, but her posterior performances left me cold.

That Kvitova's index finger...

Cornet takes 1st! She playing well! Cornet is a hot and cold type player! If she is on hot! You are not going to beat her! She is one of my favorite player to watch! She has fallen in the ranking this year but she is top 20 previously!

She hit some amazing shots this match, unfortunately lost her consistency later on.
That why she has dropped in the rankings! I think she around 30 now! I met her when she was just getting into the Tour, maybe 10 years ago? She was a very nice person.

Couple of small powerhouses into the semi's. I really don't know much about Mertens. 21 and playing well, another good prospect.

Aga and Peng has been a good match so far. Aga's pulling out her ninja stuff.

Does this mean though she has Full functions of her hand and fingers as she did before ?? or is there some limitation now after her surgery ?
That's the question. I've not read anything that addresses it, whether she's back to 100% or not yet but will with time or if she never will be...

Gavrilkov just has the winning shot to win the games. Radwanska just can finish her add ins! I had many sets that look like I got blown out in terms of set scores but it was like this first set!

I read in an article (a few months back) that she can't make a fist. She said she didn't have to adjust her grip or technique, but that she is lucky she's not a badminton player (with the smaller racquet).

Yep. This has been a very entertaining match. Aga with break point for 5 all 2nd set. Hoping it goes 3.

Radwanska now out of the top 10. She had just made 100 consecutive weeks of being in the top 10. Cibulkova takes her place.

Gavrilova also vying for her first title.
She's been a runner up twice before - at the Premier Moscow last year losing to Kuznetsova and lost International Strasbourg losing to Stosur back in May.

Cibulkova into her first final since shocking everyone and winning the 2016 WTA Finals.
She's had a very mediocre 2017. Started the year ok, QF in Brisbane, St Petersburg SF, Premier 5 Qatar SF but ever since then hasn't made a single QF since then. No top 10 wins all year..
Prior to this week she was 26th in the race to Singapore rankings, wasn't even close to qualifying. This final run has pushed her up 9 spots to #17 in the race..

Couple of scarily strong Cibu forehands so far. Back on serve, but Cibu with the momentum.
Correction: there is no such thing as momentum in the WTA. :) That's now three breaks of serve after five games played. Gavrilova up 3-2, serving for 4-2.

Edit: make that four breaks after six games played. 3-3, Cibu to serve
