Timmy is turning into a gatekeeper. He beats a Big 3 member(s) (Joker and Ol' Rog)...and then loses to some NextGen neophyte

Berdych retired yesterday, someone needs to fill the void

wonder if stef wins this if he'll get the wtf curse b/c every person who has won this from 2016 onwards has gone on to have an abysmal season the next

Stef is clearly the better player so far. He's doing to Thiem what Federer consistently did to Roddick. Block those bombs with clinical ease and dominate the middle of the court and move the opponent around.

Simply stunning performance from zeus, you have to admit that. Great match. Enjoying it without the pressure of fed matches...

Roddick's serve is a bit better than Thiem's I think.

"Let them be them, let us be us. All we do is think about the feelings that we hide, as we look towards the sky. Just keep breathing and seek what sets your soul on fire, it’s all about desire. In a relatively demanding world take time to gravitate towards sharing emotion as a flexion towards perfection with minimal deception. Once you fail, don’t stop to sail, take the adventure that’s good to avail moments that knot your breath and, label your commitment to solidarity of choice in which you are to prevail. Whether connected or not, the discipline of the gratification remains resilient and forceful to provide empathy and lust. I’m tired of made up stories that stash allegories, grieve, so that you can be free and feel the existent marvel of tranquility in which human variety presents a chance for a new beginning." Full credit to Stefanos, he’s been the most consistent player of the tournament. But not sure how this last set and a half could be enjoyable for anyone but Tsitsipas fans, Dom has been a total no show.

Thiem is waning and Tsits seems like he has more in the tank. Oh the advantage of being 21 years old. Those were the days.

And yet 33 years old Nadal was too good for him in this tournament, LOL. And don't say Tsitsipas didn't try. He was fighting for 3 hours.

It's just one step from that to Kyrgios-Tomic doucchebag-ery.

i feel like for the most part nick owns who he is. i cant speak for tomic since i dont know much about it. but between his gamesmanship antics, his faux intellectual tweets where most of the time he is actually quoting someone else and not being original, he just needs to stop talking. he has tweeted some pretty dangerous things imo and people just pretend he is this cute, quirky innocent thing

I can't watch the match. Do Thiem's bombs have precision? Are they telegraphed? If No to the first question and Yes to the second then really Thiem needs to work on a bit of disguise to reach the next level in performance.

There's no WTF curse. That's a crock. You just need to be good enough to carry over results from tournament to tournament and year to year, and I think Tsitsipas will be (if he wins this).

Thiem looks less fresh than Tsitsipas. Here is where the difference is made imo.
It tends to happen when you have to beat Federer and Djokovic to go through to the next round. It's also another thing when you're playing Nadal in a match that you can lose so of course you lose it because you suck.

Then Tsists came out the next day after a disappointing loss in a 3 hour match and beat Federer, looking fresh as a daisy. Would Nadal at 33 have done that? Unlikely. That's what youth allows you to do. He did try but Nadal was too good.

Being a bit rushed by good Tsitsi court positioning and bombs of his own..

How the hell is Tsitsipas landing all those loopy backhands right on the line so often? For 75% of the ball trajectory looks like it's way wide, but in the last 25% drops on the line. Crazy.
