This could be the match that decides the winner of Indian Wells. Both look very confident and the remaining players are very beatable for both of them.

They played 1 crazy match before (2015 Madrid if I remember right) which Kyrgios won 7-6 6-7 7-6 after saving match points.

Fed is on a high after winning AO and after beating Nadal in IW again.
Kyrgios is on a high after beating Djokovic twice in the last 2 tournaments.

Should be a great match. Fed's return should be tested. I wonder if Kyrgios will try to junkball Fed (not a good idea) or whether he will play more aggressively and hit Fed off the court (which he can).

Kyrgios's serve is so good that if he serves well pretty much any match is on his racquet. Fed is probably the one guy (with Murray) who can string together enough decent returns to make a dent, even at this age.

If Kyrgios pushes off the baseline, which is what he did today, he plays right into Fed's hands. If he doesn't and gets Federer moving, he will have a great chance.

Either way, really hope the winner of this wins the tournament. Anything else would be tragic.

Let's go Kyrgios. Shut Fed and his hype train down just like Djokovic did in Wimbledon 2015. Damn shame Nadal is no longer up to it.

Extremely tough to call. Honestly, straight sets to either, or a tight three setter, nothing would surprise me. Narrowest of margins match IMO. I'll go with Fed in 3.
Kyrgios' record against the big 3 is crazy good, Fed is gonna have to be very cluch to advance further. I guess Fed is always the safe bet but it's literally a 50/50 proposition at this point. 1-2 points could decide the outcome.

I have no idea. My prediction skills have been shot to hell this year so far.

Either way, I hope Federer or Kyrgios wins the tournament.

Nick continues to surprise with his performances so I will say him but literally anyones guess. I could see a very close one or even a blow out, no idea how it will pan out. Kyrgios in 3.

I'm sure Fed has talked smack about Kyrgios in the past, so hopefully Kyrgios will use that as motivation for the match. Would be interesting to see how he handles the worshippers in the crowd as well.

I voted for Roger in two, but with my heart. I always vote for Roger.

This is very tough. Couple of points can change the outcome. Nick Kyrgios doesn't give a damn even if it's top three on the other side of the court. He has beaten Roger, Rafa and Novak in his first meeting. So he is the favorite for the match.

Fed FTW in 3. Although it could really go either way. Nick is on fire, young, energetic, and tons of talent. His downfall would be loss of concentration and patience. But if he maintains his level and concentration, Fed will have a very hard time beating him.

The current form that Fed is showing is a level or two above their last meeting, imo.

And I completely agree that the winner here may very well go on to take the trophy.

I'm taking Kyrgios in 3. Federer might roll through the 1st set, but I reckon Kyrgios' serve is really going to trouble Federer. It was causing him headaches in their last match which Kyrgios won and Federer's own serving has been up and down so far. It'll be a tight one, but here's hoping Kyrgios keeps rolling on.

Fed in three. I think Nick takes one set in a TB. If Fed plays as he did against Nadal, it won't matter how on fire Nick's serve is, he won't beat this superlative form of Roger. And Nick's ROS is not very good.

I think Kyrgios should be the favorite. He is on the ascendancy and will enter his prime soon, while Federer is a fading star albeit still decent. Not sure if he can maintain his level coming into this match as he is getting inconsistent as getting older. Wouldn't rule out Federer though and just like v Nadal I would say it's 55/45 in favor of Kyrgios.

Would love see Nicholas dissect the Fed with his cannon serves and back up the win over Djoko but don't think he'll get as many opportunities on return. Fed in 3

I don't remember Kyrgios putting two great performances back to back. So Federer. But again on his day Kyrgios can beat anyone with kind of serve he has. I think this is biggest test for Federer in this IW. Rest should be easy. One good performance and title is his.

Nick kinda hates Fed. He'll put all his will into the serve and finish him in 3 sets
Also wonder if the winner of this match fails to claim the title. That would be quite confusing

Djokovic is the kind of player against whom Kyrgiosbgets into his comfort zone. Can't do that vs Fed. Will be very interesting

lol what, no he doesn't, he is a huge fan of fed. in fact he said, fed is pretty much his favorite player and kind of got giddy when fed was in the locker room. fed also had invited him to basel i think for some tennis thing.

With the way Kyrgios is serving we could see tiebreaks. Toss up, depends who holds their nerve better. Nick gets up for these matches.

Don't know where the 'Fed hates Nick' stuff comes from. As far as i know the only instance where Fed spoke out against Nick was around that Stan incident.
Even recently he was kinda joking with Nick while talking about his most painful loses in a hopman cup interview, mentioning Nick's Madrid win over him. As loosing after having MPs.
Don't think there's a bad history between these two.

the user actually said nick hates fed and i'm like where, because he actually beats him? yeah and his speaking out imo, considering how he can be brutal at times towards players, was kind of subdued. he made some comment about how we need a clown for this circus when nick beat him at madrid, but that was more about the conditions and nick didn't seem to bothered when fed said (and he was right) that nick is hard to beat at the AO but he doesnt know if he can win it yet, which was true as well. nick has always talked about fed being his idol and in fact being very star struck when meeting him, but that doesn't mean he will roll over.

Think there will be max 1 or 2 breaks in the whole match, likely to be 0. Think Nick will win but my heart says Rogie, should be a good match

Its gonna be a great match...really don't care who wins.

Fed's movement, groundies, and shot selection

Krygios' stunning serve, inpredictability and his own style of grit.

Equals an incredible match up
