His two wins on clay last month, the first of their kind in almost forever, were gravy. He will look at them that way as he pounds a few Luxembourg pints tonight.
Indeed he will. His elegant all court game will shine once grass season starts. Could see him winning one of the 250s and having a good QueensWimbledon run.

the Batman and FromSport streaming sites no longer work for me...both seem to want me to download the new version of Adobe Flash player...I have two older versions installed but they no longer work I guess...thinking ahead to the Nadal-Djokovic same time situations tomorrow... I have Tennis Channel on my cable tv, but want more options and don't want to pay for TC Plus
You need updated version of adobe flash

At #55, he doesn't have much chance of getting to a seeded position in the draw unless he does win a title right out of the blocks. Then, with Wimby's scheme for rewarding grass results, he might get to that threshold and that would make a Wimby run more than a crapshoot.

alright, I'll download it...haven't downloaded anything of significance on my computer in a while, just don't want any issues..but, tennis! :)
You can go to their web page and get it there, shouldnt be a problem. I never had problems w Adobe before, but I use an Apple machine

Dan Evans, that side shade has to go.

I wouldn't mind but he has the cheek to insist he is the real #3 British player rather than that Slovenian import, Bedene!

Here's a novel thought: How about you actually EARN that ranking Dan, instead of complaining about Aljaz who has at least been winning SOME matches recently??

I remember Rusedski having the same problem with Chris Wilkinson and the other British players at the time when he got his British citizenship and Rusedski's mother is British. Does it matter? I hate the way players are referred to by their national ranking rather than their world ranking. When Andy is down the rankings he is always the British #1 but they haven't called him the British #1 since he became world #1.

so that Pouille-Nadal match at the U.S. Open was a lot more about Nadal?
Pouille caught lightning in a bottle, he hasn't even come close to that level since and I've watched tons of his matches, especially this clay court season. How Benneteau pushed him so hard with just his serve alone is just mind blowing to me. He's on upset alert in the next round when he faces Bellucci.

Exactly, why does this matter?

You mean using the national ranking? I feel that in an international setting, which the ATP tour is, saying Bedene is the British #3 is irrelevant because the viewer wants to know where he stands in the world rankings. They do it more with the British players.

World #1 just sounds better! ;)

That's exactly what I mean. "The 17th best player in Spain" HOLY S**T, NEED AN APPLAUSE?

Of course World #1 sounds better but it appears that they have to say Andy is #1 at all costs so when he is not World #1, they resort to his British ranking.

The #1 player is always referred to as such irrespective of his nationality. Heck, Federer is still often referred to as the former world #1!

give him credit though, he fought back today...can't be losing to Benneteau at this stage of their careers

Lucas Pouille really needs to work on his focus early in slams. No reason why it took him 5 sets to beat Benneteau. Can't be dicking around with a 35 year old.
That's what I thought at first.

Both were emotional after the match as it was probably Benneteau's last match at RG and they seem to be good friends. Not an excuse but it probably isn't easy to keep focus under these circumstances.

Really nice video. The one where Rafa talks about what questions he hates answering the most made me laugh. :)
Sock: "Do you feel like a million bucks? More to the point: does your right wrist feel like 1.2 mil?"

Just one upset so far it seems. Things looking pretty good on day one.

We could see some upsets tomorrow. I feel that if Del Potro isn't on song Pella could beat him. Cilic has to be careful against Gulbis because if he catches fires it could be a long day for both.

Definitely some tougher matches for the seeds tomorrow. Verdasco could also be trouble for young Sascha. And wouldn't be surprised to see Ferrer out to Young; not even sure how he's still seeded.

Watching Dimitrov. Extremely confused.

This is not the place to blow it. Once he got back to a Slam I really thought he was going to stop doing it.

Is anyone else watching? What is he doing??

Ferru is a former GS finalist. He was Rafa's opponent in 2014 here at RG.

I would like to see FeVer actually come to play and give the young Russian German some competition.
