no energy in this match!

Federer is conserving, as he has all tournament with no opponent pushing him to another gear.

and Berdych just looks listless.

Wasn't the case in 2010-2013.
The funny thing is that their matches are quite competitive on the slicker surfaces. Does Federer prefer slower courts even though he can't beat Nadal and Djokovic on them regularly? :D

Trolls probably going to have a field day with this post.

He is not in the zone yet just hit a screamer forehand winner down the line off of a first serve. Looks different where I'm sitting.

In the 2015 semi, Federer was serving like a godly bot - not the case today, he's serving well but not peaking. A slighlty better ground game doesn't make up for it in overall level. Tiebreakerer is another story.

Fed decidedly average today, but I feel like that could be good if he gets through this in 3. He's peaked for SFs before and lost the final. I also think he's feeling the pressure of being the favourite for the first time. He didn't have time to process it while he was playing Raonic, but now all the other Big 4 are gone I think he's feeling it a bit.

Federer is very much into this match, but so is Berdych, who is showing his semi final spot was no fluke. He is in great form.
federer has served 4 doubles and doesnt look energeic in his body language..

he seems very irritable.. hit a ball to the roof once, kicked it hard once..

even mirka seems more tense than usual..

If Fed plays at this level, he will lose to Cilic on Sunday, probably in straights. I can't believe Fed fans think this is some kind of high level. It's about 40% of the level he brought against Murray in the 2015 semis. He also looks tight and nervous.

Basically he brought his peak form up until 4-3 in the first set.

As I can I agree medium paced courts suit him more these days (AO) has more time on the ball he has been very reactive on the grass recently.

That's not true. You're just pissed because Federer's on his way to winning this sucker.

Hello???.....anyone out there with a "tennis" observation?

The reaction/over-reactions after every point and at every turn's absurd:

"omg!..he missed! my idol's giving this away!"............"oh, what a shot, no way he loses this match!"
