Congrats Fed. Certainly didn't expect a win here in Miami after disappointing loss to Thiem. May be first time in his career he has played better in Miami than IW. His return must be appreciated as well. 6-0 6-4 against Kandyman, 6-1 6-4 against Isner and many 6-2/6-3 sets in this tournament as well.

His first big title since AO 2018, the streak of losing Masters final is over now. This success should serve as confidence booster for him. And after showing the world he is not done yet, the goal really should be Wimbledon now.

I don't think he should be in a rush rn. He's #1 in the race and solidly #4. Madrid is his best clay tournament - rest a bit but not enough to get out of shape.

My guess is that at his age it's harder to win late in the season.

2017 - back injury in Montreal screwed up his USO form/chances. Else would've been the favorite.
2018 - lost his 1st match at Miami and 4th match at the USO. had issues with his hand since grass season in 18 - that we found about only later.

Rog actually had a recent interview where he praised Isner's game and laid out his strategy to deal with it. Looks like it worked!

It can’t believe that Fed turned this tourney around like he did. Fed looked absolutely terrible in the first match against Albot. I thought Albot was going pull a Kokkinakis and win. By the time he got to Kandy, he was clicking on all 8 cylinders. Fed wrecked Medvedev, Kandy and Shapovalov.

Fed won 33 of his 35 service points against Isner . At one point late in the 2nd set, Fed was only 4/4 at the net.
