I am just saying, you need to be consistent when you throw numbers around. If you want to take away 2015, then you better look at those early matches, where Djokovic was the shell of what he was going to become.
Fine, I agree 2006 doesn't tell us anything. 2007 not tells us too much as well, though Djokovic still played better than Nadal did in 2015. In 2008 Djokovic was very good and close to his prime on clay though.

Well it wasn't Federer's fault Nadal was never so horrible for him to take advantage.

Djoker hasn't done any better against Nadal at RG than Fed other than 2013 when Nadal choked when serving for the match.

Except 2013? Are you excluding that too now? There is no except. Djokovic pushed nadal to 9-7 in the 5th, that alone is tougher than anything Federer could put up. 2015 counts too. It was a legit match. If we don't count that, then we shouldnt count Nadals wins in 06-07 against Djoko either.

So 1 win, 1 5 setter vs 0 wins and Couple of 4 setters?

Jesus, how pathetic this discussion is.

The difference is that 2006-2007 Nadal would have probably won against any version of Djokovic in RG. 2015 Djokovic would have probably lost even to 2014 Nadal, leave alone better versions.

Djokovic was fortunate that Nadal choked when serving for the match in 2013. Other than that it was business as usual when Nadal played Djokovic at RG.

Only Djoko trolls use 2015 as any sort of proof of Djoko's superiority.

Djokovic pushes Nadal once and all of a sudden he is the king of the planet LOL.

Haha more excuses, now Nadal was choking apparently and Djokovic didn't do anything. Getting more and more pathetic all of this.

Djokovic was tougher for Nadal, no matter how many excuses you wanna put up.

Nobody said Djokovic is the King of the planet cause he pushed nadal to 9-7 in the 5th, but it's better than anything Federer could put up wich was the discussion in the 1st place. So stick to what the topic is about and don't wander away cause your pathetic excuses doesnt work.

Isn't it fun just making up stuff to suit your own opinion.

I'll give you 2013.

And enough with the 2015 win. :-DApparently, beating in form Gonzalez in a slam fi al is the epitome of weakness. Instead, beating the worst Nadal on clay is what legends are made of :-D. You can't make this stuff up.

Fine. Djokovic pushed Nadal once. He has still never beaten a good Nadal at the FO at the end of the day.

I would have liked it if Fed won instead, but whatev. Djokovic plays best in semis and finals, but he plays even better against Ned/Fed. Still, it depends on how much he wants the Madrid title.

Djokovic in 3, but Thiem could easily beat him. I only really care about Rome and RG anyway, although another masters is great

This is massive for both of these guys going forward. I think it saps whoever loses confidence in a big way.

I also feel nadal is improving as we speak, and he will be gunning for whoever wins, if he makes the final.

I feel Djokovic needs this win more IMO.

Most anticipated match of the clay season so far.Really looking forward to it.

Yeah, Im benched and ready for this!

I think thiem is the slight favourite as he has more matches under his belt and been in better form. However, Novak is improving again and looking to peak for Paris! I think this will go 3 sets, these are both the only 2 who have a chance of beating Nadal at RG! Will be interesting!

The first rally doesn't look good. Thiem had the whole court open but for some reason he decided to hit a drop shot, and he missed.

Thiem winning this tournament after not only beating Fedalovic back to back to back, but also managing to beat Opelka would be incredible

Just heard that Djokovic didn't having a winning H2H against top 10 players overall in a season until 2011.

stats from IW through to this match, @Meles approved:

Djokovic:
SPW: 65.4%
RPW: 42.2%
TPW: 53.6%
DR: 1.22

Thiem:
SPW: 69.4%
RPW: 40.5%
TPW: 54.2%
DR: 1.32

Novak in a serving slump, but may have picked it up in Madrid. Thiem will tell.
I thought I saw some disturbingly good service stats from him in the last few matches. Unbroken in two matches at Madrid. Did he not do this in Shanghai to match Zedzilla's Masters feat?

Both players look rather good in early going. Thiem looks like a load today from the ground.o_O
