ATP H2H: 2-1 for FAA

Stefanos is a defending champion, he can earn his 5th ATP title and first time in his career he can defend the title at the ATP Tour.
Felix will strive to profit the premier trophy at the ATP tournaments, he lost his all previous 4 finals without winning the set.

Who win? Will be Stefanos's defense of the title successful or does Felix finally win his first ATP title?

"Mental midget" is just 19 years old. There may be room and time for improvement, especially if the 50s are the new 30s. He may still reach finals in 2050!
Any case of player who sucked mentally in his early days, but regrouped, as of late?

Hmmm, I expected that to be a tougher match. Surprised at how easily FAA lost today. Mind you, he's played a lot of tennis in these two weeks. Two tournaments and two finals. For a 19 year old that's really spectacular. But, somehow he gets into the final and can't seem to relax enough to play his game. Five finals, five losses and zero sets won. Not a good record, but he'll turn it around at some point.

Ivan Lendl is the classic example. But if you compare Djokovic's nervousness in his first major final (2007 US Open) with today, there is also a night and day difference.

I was going to bring that up but Yugram probably thinks Fed is still a "mental midget."

Even if he is, he's a mental midget who won 20 Slams, 103 titles, and was #1 at the end of five years and for 310 weeks. Felix Auger-Aliassime has the best body of work as a teenager of any player in a long time - since Del Potro, I would say. And I think he has a glittering future ahead of him. It is, however, very unlikely that it will reach Federer (or Nadal or Djokovic) levels of glitteringness.

Both of these players needed this title for different reasons, Tsitsipas to start establishing himself in 2020, and FAA to get the title monkey off his back. Someone had to lose. This board would have been just as brutal towards Tsitsipas if he had lost, so it's inevitable someone is going to get the "if you ain't first, you're last" treatment.

Stefanos was a better player in today's final, but Felix has a mental block from the finals matches, now is his balance in the finals of ATP tournaments is 0-5, without gained set. If this trend continues, he should consider the help of a sports psychologist. The sooner the better.

Yes, the binary nature of tennis, you are either a hero or a bum.
