The matches tomorrow that seem to me to be real toss-ups are Nishikori vs. McDonald and Brooksby vs. Fritz. Otherwise I am thinking there won't be too many surprises. Zverev, Opelka, Berrettini, Shapovalov, Karatsev, Bublik, Monfils, Hurkacz, Ivashka, Sinner, and Djokovic will likely all make it to the third round - not sure about Basilashvili vs. Cressy or Otte vs. Kudla.

For Friday's matches I think RBA vs FAA might be an interesting close match. If Tsitsipas wins tonight he will play Alcaraz Garfia on Friday. The most surprising match for me is van de Zandschulp vs. Bagnis.

Hoping Schwartzman can prevail in his match tonight with Anderson.

is this a Grand Slam or a challenger? On this bottom half, one could wonder...lol
Who the hell are Laaksonen, Gojowcik, Zandscluff, Molcan, Bagnis,... ? Even Popyrin and Andujar in 3rd round is strange. Laaksonen and Gojowcik both come from the qualifying draw which means a Q player will be in R4.
I am looking forward to FAA vs RBA, Rublev-Tiafoe and possibly Tsitsipas-Alcaraz, but I have little interest in the other matches. The top half is much more interesting...

I picked Popyrin to meet Medvedev in the 4th round. Not surprising me. Lot of players playing above their rankings, though.

There doesn't seem the same drama today. I missed so many exciting matches yesterday because of the flurry. I missed a lot of matches that I wished I had had a chance to see!

I watched the Pospisil/Foggy match (I'm Canadian, so that's my excuse) and it started out boring as heck, with Pops serving poorly, and I was ready to flip the channel, but then the comeback. The crowd really got into the match as well, with both Foggy fans and Pops fans. Somehow Pops pulled it out, after being down a break in the 5th.

In the on-court interview he was asked how he persevered and he said that his friend Steve Nash, a fellow Vancouverite, was in his box and he didn't want to let him down. Vasek always plays best when he plays for country or for others.

Roof is leaking in Louis Armstrong stadium. Heavy rain outside.
The first match under a roof suspended due to rain that I know of.
Schwartzman vs Anderson was the match being played.

Wow, that is so unfortunate. Diego slipped and botches the volley. Had the easy winner lined up. Now Kevin has a mini break at 4-3

It’s an indoor match that’s like they’re playing outdoors in a drizzle. Did they not test the potential “leakage” in heavier rain conditions like a lingering storm can produce???

So they're back on court, but they don't get to warm up again, because it was shorter than a Tsitsipas toilet break. (just a smidge under 10 minutes)

Yep, at the time of the prior two suspensions he was serving, it seems the suspensions got him off rhythm.
Diego won the first set tiebreak after the last suspension and held his serve in the first game of the second set.
