Exactly. Grigor is probably the third of Nishikori raonic and Dimitrov trio.
Raonic was definitely the best of the bunch. Just very unlucky with injuries, like Nishi. Kei was great and had a nice peak, but his serve limited it somewhat.

Dimitrov is the one that was injured the least. He has the prettiest game, but is weak mentally and doesn’t have big enough weapons to compensate for his flaws.

Nice to see Grigor sticking around. Though just like in Bercy we hardly saw any of the quality that earned him the place in the finals.

One of the best backhand masterclasses I have seen in a while. The smooth generating of pace and depth have been stunning to watch yet again. Long way to go until then but among all the remaining events for this season it feels like Sinner missing out on Torino would surprise me the most.

So far the more fitting heir to the throne than Carlos that's for sure.

Also technically weaker. He couldn't afford a slightly weaker backhand when he didn't have weapons like milos.

Milos had huge holes but his serve and forehand were big enough to counter it.

Good win for Sinner but in terms of the quality on display a disappointing final overall due to an underperforming Dimi. Their previous encounter in Bejing was far more of a contest. Well then, let´s see what Sinner can do on clay this year - or will this pollen allergy keep him down again?

Sinner was sick and throwing up in Beijing against Dimitrov.

Milos game is bland but i can’t help rooting for him.

Even this year, with slow movement and such long periods without play, he managed to win a set against De Minaur and had SP against Sinner before injuries made him forfeit the matches. His serve and forehand are just so nice to watch.

I still believe that the next player to have Federer-like short-term domination (2-3 years) will have a massive serve+1 combo.

Remember when Sinner was a brainless ballbasher
No, but I remember when most of this forum called him that

(together with choker, mental midget, weakling, average, can't serve, can't volley, can't slice, can't close, Berdych light, never gonna beat Tsitsipas, never gonna beat Medvedev, never gonna beat Djokovic,, never gonna do it on the big stage, never gonna win a big title, never gonna win a slam, etc.)

You confuse being nice and well mannered with boring
Nah. He’s utterly boring. You have Fedal who were “nice and well mannered” who were very charismatic personalities.
Sinner is a great player and will very likely go down as an ATG, but he’s got the charisma of a fruit fly.

I liked milos always. Wished he had 1 Wimbledon at the end.

I really expect the same thing. Nowdays, we have hype from Sinner fans, but in reality, Carlos is far talented than Jannik and he will develop better. Just wait for it.
They're near equals to me. Carlos may end up a notch ahead but Sinner is utterly brilliant.

This is NOT a HYPERBOLE. There is a huge difference between the Greatest player to play the game and this new kid who's basically won 1 slam.
Unlike in Paris Bercy last year, Dimitrov didn't cry today because he knows he lost today to a more talented player with a much higher ceiling.

Sinner will win multiple slams this year. Money is on him to take Wimbledon his game is perfect for it.

His game is perfect for all surfaces in the new era. You don’t need to change it up at all. Djokovic has been dominating with his one dimensional baseline game for years. Surfaces mean Jack **** these days.

Well, yes - there were concerns about his stamina, and this big stage thing was also lingering around (e.g. just remember last years Wimbledon semi-final), and there were inevitably a lot of exaggerations :D! Now we are all awe and praise - Hail Sinner!

Alcaraz today is a better server than Sinner was at his age. No reason to really think he won't turn it into a bit of a weapon himself.
He’s short. His serve is never going to be on the same tier as Federer or Sampras. What Carlos has over Sinner is better touch and better retrieving ability.

April and May are gonna be interesting. I am pretty sure than Jannik will destroy the last myth that he can`t play on Clay. I do not see anyone stronger a part from Alcaraz

You're looking at the man who will end Djokovic's final reign as world number one.

It will be a true passing of the torch for the king of the last generation to the king of this new one.
You have to be like Djokovic to beat Djokovic. That was the consensus.
Sinner is basically his clone.
Other than Djokovic himself, I can't see many guys on the tour stopping Sinner with the way he's playing right now.
The only other one is Alcaraz and he's hot and cold lately.
