I unfortunately had to miss this match. I had a family dinner to attend. I was hoping to catch the third set, thinking it’d be tied at 2 sets each after 2 hours. Nope. I see that Sinnee absolutely wrecked Dimi in under 2 hours.

Congrats to Sinner for a great win. I guess I will wait to catch the rerun on Tennis Channel.
It was prime Fed in the 00s/early peak Novak kinda aura Sinner was exuding while he was there. Simply too good.

I love sinner off the court but im just here to watch tennis, and man, if you can get trough a whole sinner match without yawning, youre wasting your talent, you should be organizing the birth certificates of your whole state by alphabetic order, its a pity, some months ago sinner was talking about trying to get better at playing varied, now he has realized just with a big serve and being consistent he basically has no rivals, good for him, bad for tennis fans, the only reason i like carlos is because of that, when grigor won, fair play man, if you win playing like that, i win too, thats all i want, but this robot s hit again, no please, dont screw this sport even more

You might be right that sinner and Carlos are underrated in respective departments

But a serve is probably 10 times more important than a net game. You have to admit it's the most important shot in tennis. And Carlos is among the easiest ones to return right now.

Let's see what will happen in the future.
Agree on all of it. But as I do keenly follow Alcaraz, I'm confident in his development of a more than dependable service. He'll to me never have an elite slice serve but he can get there.

Your and brethrens hate for Nole is why I am very happy now sinner is becoming another one you will have to hate.
Ok I’m happy for your happiness. But even for jobless Internet warriors this is a little sad. Try to go out and get a life once in a while. Life is better outside mommy’s basement. I promise.

Sinner's game is spectacular to watch. You don't need a personality when you play like that.
Besides, what personality and charisma did Djokovic, Murray, and Del Potro have? None.
Nah. I mean, I agree with you that Sinner plays fantastic tennis. Anybody who disagrees is a blind hater at this point. I’m not one of them. I’m just not “feeling it” . He plays like an efficient robot. I understand that it works for a lot of the tennis enthusiasts. Unfortunately not for me. I really wanted to like and root for Sinner. Seems like a nice chap overall.
The other players you mentioned were interesting in their own ways. Djokovic is funny, articulate and intense. Potro was extremely charismatic, come on. I used to turn on the tv just to watch him play and to see that Forehand work its magic. Well, I never really liked Murray for the same reasons I don’t take that well to Sinner. So I don’t have much to say about that.

Sinner passing shots could develop into some of the best since Nadal. Looks a nightmare to try approaching against him. Rock solid game all round right now from the thin man.

People were talking like this about Alcaraz last year. He beat Sinner only one tournament ago.

As impressed as I am with Sinner, I don't think he's ready to donate in the way some people expect. Alcaraz and Djokovic will do their share of winning this year, I reckon. And Med&Zed may have their moments too if the other three stumble.

Let's also see whether Nadal can do anything on clay. You can't expect much given the circumstances, but with Nadal on clay you never know ...

It could be a fun year.

NB. If Sinner does dominate, it will be very annoying ... because my phone insists on changing his name to "Dinner" every time! Perhaps I should sop correcting it and pretend it's my nickname for him.

"Sinner Winner Chicken Dinner" you must have heard this one before :)

Amazing performance from Sinner. Dimitrov was playing great coming into final but Sinner give him nothing. He’s a ruthless machine right now. Congrats to Sinner and Sinner fans. He is some player and Sinner and alcaraz are going to have an epic rivalry and winning lots of titles between them.

Hard luck for dimitrov but still an amazing run for him.

Missed the match but I had a feeling that Dimitrov would get wrecked. He played a lot of tennis in his tournament and Sinner is like ATG level form for the last 4-5 months. There was no path to victory here for Dimi, unfortunately.

Title #13 for Sinner and 2nd at Masters 1000 level. It is his 3rd title of the season which now consists of 1 Slam (the AO), 1 Masters (Miami) and 1 ATP500 (Rotterdam) all hardcourt events and it places him firmly at the top of the leaderboard for titles won by a top #10 player this season.

For the resurgent Dimitrov it is his 2nd Masters 1000 final within the last 5 months (was also a finalist at the 2023 Paris Masters) and marks his 1st appearance in the top #10 since 2018.

He is something. By end of 2026 he would be ahead of Andy most likely.

He’s better than 22 year old Murray

Marginally perhaps because of his Slam. At the same age (22 yrs, 8 months) Murray had been in 2 Slam finals (both losses) and won 4 Masters 1000 titles and had already been ranked as world #2 (August 2009).
And he’s continuing to pull away. Especially if he wins one of the upcoming 3 clay court masters

What robot? Hes hitting the skin off the ball off both wings while being Djokovic-like in defense and baseline stability. Hows that robot-like?

Even with Dimitrov playing at a semi-decent 2018ish Fed-like level, I still doubted what he would do to trouble Sinner. However even I didnt expect this scoreline, especially in the 2nd

Disagree with this. As insanely good as Sinner is playing right now, he doesnt hold a candle to 2005-6 Fed, 11,15 Djokovic or 2008,2013 Nadal. I am sorry but he just doesnt. Hes great against this field but lets not get carried away

This is false completely.

Sinner is playing near that level.. maybe below maybe above

No creativity man, just hitting left and right, no variation, robot in the sense that his Game is so plain, one dimensional, yeah he has that bit more pace and accuracy so he can outrally everyone but he barely uses the court, plus with his serve now, he barely has to play tennis, as i said, and It is just my opinion, is a great level, but a Boring brand of tennis he played in miami

He will play great vs great opponents then.

Let someone dare to challenge him. This Dimitrov is part of lost generation. And he is most probably the weakest of the 3 lost genners. Sinner vs Raz or Djokovic would be fireworks.

He has variety but he has no one to push apart from select few. Watch his Rotterdam final, it was very asthetic.

Also we want winners not just entertainers. Carlos Alcaraz is right now in the boat where he cares more about hitting highlights. Dimitrov was in same boat when he was young. We all used to call him Mr highlight.

What do i win if anybody wins? To me, when i switch the TV to watch tennis, i wanna see a show, thats what it is, the money is for them if they win but as an espectator, what i win is entertainment, i get he just has to care about winning in any way, but that style just makes for a worse show, thats all, when i play, i just care about winning, but then nobody is paying anything to watch me play, a player winning with that style just devaluates tennis in my opinion, tennis is a very beautiful sport with unlimited possibilities when you use the whole court and apply different spins on the ball, seeing It diminished to that style just makes it like watching golf or something like that, if you enjoy it, great for you, i really dont, the good news is that not everybody plays like that, and as you said, he can make for great matches when playing against the right player, but i like players that you know you can watch a first round from them and you gonna be entertained, i watched many first rounds from sinner but im gonna stop doing it, just not my cup of tea

That's true. Don't watch sinner in first rounds. He will make mincemeat of the opponents. But later in the rounds is where the meat is.

These Dimitrov type players are for early rounds.

The point is, you can make micemeat of the opponets in an entertaining way, or in a dull one, watching an alcaraz first round is basically as entertaining as watching him in the final, as i said, more value, better show, i dont get this necessity of watching someone win all the time lol, i dont know if its a way to live through them or something, really never understood that, but i dont need to, to each their own

Alcaraz got his ass handed to him by Dimitrov who is part of the lost gen.
