The most appealing thing about these is that they don't have a white/off-white/ultra light gray sole on them. I'd buy them for that alone.

It seems that Vapor pro 2 will replace Vapor pro and will be used mainly by Kyrgios, while Vapor 11 will replace Vapor court nxt (which doesn't seem to have been a huge success among professionals); the latter should be used by Alcaratz and perhaps by Tiafoe ... We'll see

Considering that vapor pro 2 should have a cushioning that recalls the turbo gp, probably Tiafoe will opt for vapor pro 2

Does the Cage 4 live on to it's what, FIFTH year now? What a beast of a shoe if so.

Do you already know if the zoom air unit is full-length or only in the heel or just the forefoot?
Vapor 11 and Vapor pro 2

i know this is the case but not quite sure why TW would punish babolast or anyone else after all these years

ultimately its free marketing for Nike & TW... feels pretty unnecessary

I'm skeptical there will be a 9.5 re-release...why would Nike re-release a shoe synonymous with Federer? And Nike is all about putting out new and "better" models with "better technology (they've failed at that in tennis for years now). I haven't seen any evidence anywhere on the internet...

Why does Jordan brand release retros?

Why does Jordan brand release retros?

I think a lot of the Jordan brand retros are released because they sell like hotcakes as casual sneakers.

They also do limited releases as an important marketing device to get attention in the sneaker community and reinforce their reputation as not only a sports company but an influential fashion / lifestyle brand by showing how many popular older models / silhouettes they have created.

There are sought after tennis shoe retros that are done for similar reasons (Nike Air Oscillate / Mcenroes / Agassi signatures) but I think with the 9.5 it would have to be for a different reason.

It could be that Nike has realised they have players advocating for the shoe and that there is a big enough market for the shoe in the playing community. Rather than looking at it as a retro, maybe Nike also believes that from a performance standpoint it is still very competitive with current models.

It’s hard to predict with Nike at the moment. There have been some bizarre decisions. The GP Turbo was a revolutionary shoe that sold well, and they scrapped it. Even more confusing were the NikeCourt React Vapor NXT and NikeCourt Zoom NXT - I’ve never seen Nike make a decision that bad with one flagship shoe before, but in this case they did it with two consecutive models that were both awful shoes.

Good for you.

It’s easy, they release Federer shoe without paying him a single cent and everybody is waiting to buy it.

How do you know they're coming out?
Totally guessing here based on having had connections with someone who worked for Nike. They plan things out way in advance and they produce catalogs either for internal use or for limited external vendors. And then the Nike Sports schools would get to see these early so they can order team uniforms for the upcoming year (also know from experience). And giant retailers would get to see next-seasons' stuff, too. So, some people outside of Nike would be in the know and some people within Nike would know - but they're not supposed to say anything or share anything because the knowledge is not for message boards.

So at this point, you can look at Babolast's track record and decide if you trust him or not. But he would be jeopardizing his apparent access to insider knowledge if he proved anything to us.

So what’s the track record looking like? Seems like he didn’t know about the Vapor Pro’s or the Vapor NXT back in 2021

*shrug* I’m not keeping track. Would be interesting to look at… If the V9.5s come out, my credit card company will know. If they don’t, I’ll have the V11 to look forward to. Or both.

I think that’s a very good way of looking at it. Even if we don’t get the 9.5s it does look like there are some fantastic shoes on the horizon.

You’re welcome to post the pictures of the new 9.5 and prove me wrong…
Hi, unfortunately he cannot do it; I guarantee you a few years ago it did but the photos were removed from tt.TW and Babolast was scolded ....
We have to settle for his information or from other users when they have it ... Regards

The takeaway from all this bickering is that: It's the internet. Info could be real, it could be not. It could be accurate, or totally off. Take it for what it's worth and move on.

In some cases it is Nike itself that uses the channels to officially advertise some products close to release, as in the case of the vapor pro 2 and vapor 11 whose photos are present above

Presumably the pics will appear on N!ket@lk soon enough; Babolast’s information should be accurate unless Nike decide to change things up after publication of their dealer catalogues - this happens from time to time.

I wonder if any of these 9.5s are going to make their way onto the Australian Nike site, or are we going to get screwed over like normal :-D

best way to split the difference on this topic. be at peace with what random other posters decide to share or withhold. shame TT doesnt operate as freely as swoosh talk

The apparel industry usually comes out with designs and a catalogue almost a year before they are released. This is used by authorized dealers to order from for the next season. I am in this industry and I am currently ordering items for Fall/Winter 2023.

There are probably 2 reasons why Babolast cannot post the pictures. First is that it is against the rules of this forum to do so. Second is that, if he is an authorized seller, he probably has signed an agreement with these apparel companies to keep the information confidential or risk losing the right to sell from the brand. Either way, it is really not worth the risk.

It is just how the industry works. So please be respectful and be happy you get any information at all.

There's a black pair of the Vapor 11s up on a site where you'd TALK all things NIKE. It's a clay court shoe (interestingly it has "Clay Breaker" as the tread pattern/tech name), but I hope the hardcourt version will get this standard color way.

So what does the 9.5 offer that makes it so much greater than the current model? A bit of comfort? Looks like a very different shoe...

Nostalgia.

Also, the forefoot/mid-foot fit was more accommodating to many foot types. It was a generally-loved blend of lightweight and performance. The biggest knock was usually the durability.
