Do anyone know if people will do the right thing and make this thing be played over 7 days instead of silly 6?

Nadal wins this he will only be 100 points behind Roger and with IW only 180 points to defend. But Let’s see how the hip holds up though in competitive match play in Acapulco.

Yes, one of the smartest ATP moves since hiring PR guru SexiSuri to promote TRS in 2009. Now they just need to figure out how to make Queens/Halle/Stuttgart all happy by creating a grass Masters before Wimby.
One of the dumbest moves the ATP made was turning Hamburg into a 500.

The ATP should just erase Hamburg of the calendar and convert Brisbane in a 500 event (IMO the best 250 before the AO).

Pretty strong field even more so compared to Dubai.

1st round Shapovalov vs Nishikori could be good.
Shame they won't be at their best. Nishi not fully back yet and Shapo will be fatigued from Delray.
Winner faces Thiem.

Feli coming back from injury.

Kokk just retired in his challenger yesterday due to left ankle injury.

Querrey is having the worst start to his year.

Nadal's luck cannot get any better.

Shap vs Nishi
Potential Thiem vs Shap , Delpo vs Rublev/Shap/Nishi
Nadal's half isn't bad either. Deliciano , Querrey qf.
Chung vs Sock
Nice match ups from the start, could be a great week.

Nadal:

“I am happy to be here. I feel recovered from what happened in Melbourne,” said Nadal of the injury that forced him to retire from his quarter-final match against Marin Cilic. “[I took] a couple of weeks of rest and worked hard on rehabilitation. Last week I started practising hard again. I feel ready.”

Its just amazing how turning to hard courts made this the place to be. It was a brilliant move by Acapulco. Their draw blows Dubias away and Dubai pays much more. Just a great move by this tournament.

Feli has won their last two matches. But that was in later 14 and 15 when Rafa was playing poorly.
Yes. It was in Shanghai that his appendicitis flared up and he wasn't sure he would even play but decided to under medication on top of his wrist and back problems. 2015 was Rafa's worst year on tour ever when he lost to just about everyone.

2015 was a horrible year for tennis in general.
I’m sure Fed and Rafa fans can agree that the years of Djokovic dominating were dreadful.

Any one sided year where you can fill in the winners of Grand Slams before the tournament is through week 1 is dreadful. 2017 was many times worse in that regard than 2015.

Dubai is in a crazy location considering where the tennis is in the week before and after it. If you're coming from Europe you're asking for 2 jet lags in as many weeks.

Lol, it's completely biased of course, but it wasn't seen as a problem cause about 90% of tennis 'fans' have the same bias. Zverev seemed like a bright light on the horizon but was fizzling out already by the USO and by the end of the year you could see he'd be going backwards raterh than upwords in 2018. Thiem was a plus on the clay side, Dimitrov had some glimpses of great results, Shapo on the US HC, but that's like 2 tournaments and he's still far away from being relevant in Slams. Murray, Djokovic, Wawrinka, even dudes like Raonic, Nishikori all getting injured and ending their seasons whey prematurely. It was ******* *********** awful.

Acapulco probably 'betted' as to be a sunshine double preparation tournament. Good commercial decision probably. Location with no (or little) jet lag in the view of the next 2 famous Master 1000 and same surface of course.

Really Dubai should be scheduled in that time of the year when more Asian tournys are on the run.

I really would love to see an evolution of the golden swing clay court though. All clay court Master 1000 are in Southern Europe. Tennis in Latin America is growing and countries like Chile for example should absolutely have an ATP event. Today we have Quito, São Paulo and Buenos Aires as 250 events, and Rio as a 500 event. That is it.
There could be a 500 in Santiago and a 1000 in Ciudad de Mexico! That would really make the golden swing interesting!

2017 was one of the best years for tennis since a long time. The things finally returned to normal especially after 2015 and 2016 which were one of the worst years in the tennis history

2017 was the most abnormal year in tennis ever. Just because Fedal fans got their highs repeatedly doesn't make it normal compared to 2015/2016.

6 of the top 10 of 2016 went out of the top 10 in 2017, all due to injury, as well as Wawrinka who also skipped half the season and finished in 7th.

Lastly, 2 of the 4 Slams had one player injured in the final, and a third one had Kevin Anderson in the final.

That's not normal.

That's about as far from normal as it gets.
