That's even more money than each OG player received for winning The International 2019. That's pretty epic @fundrazer
Is still crazy how the prize pool for TI always breaks the previous record. I actually haven't played or watch much in the past few years, always try to watch some of TI though.

Hard for me to put them above Wings, but OG is really frickin good. Disappointed with LGD though.

This was Bianca's mums reaction to her daughter winning her first slam

Strange looking woman. She reminds me of Morticia in The Addams Family.

An outstanding performance by BA. To overcome a resurgent SW in the second set and to break her for the win is as exceptional as the story of her journey to the title. She is the first Canadian to win a Grandslam singles title, outclassing her male Next Gen. countrymen by a long mile. I hope her remarkable achievement today will propel into achieving even more.

As for SW, a great champion with her record can never be diminished by a loss. Whilst it must be disappointing for her to lose in a Grandslam final again, she should be proud of the fact that she is still able to compete at this level.

CANADA's 1st major champion ??????? had no idea....... Now Genie has to defect to USA..... she's not getting any endorsements in Canada anymore.... all going to Bianca now.......
Bouchard has the “looks” but if Andresscu loose 20 lbs., she be right up there with Bouchard.

Absolutely no way, man.

Even in the acceptance speech, Andreescu is already saying to her team "Let's keep this going!" She is a motivation machine.

At least 6 or 7 more majors incoming.
what about Serena ?? she is still hungry to break the Margaret court record ... and also at French open and Wimbledon, Bianca's game doesnt' seem like it is as effective

WTA Race to Shenzhen after the #USOpen
1. Barty

2. Halep
3. Pliskova
4. Andreescu
5. S. Williams
6. Kvitova
7. Osaka
8. Bencic

That would be one hell of a YEC. Serena will withdraw and wrap up her season now though.

An ensemble cast.

That would be a YEC where every player in the draw could win it imo.

No dud matches in the RR stages which is rare for YECs imo.

Serena will break Courts record. Its going to be extremely tough, though. The depth in the WTA is extreme and a lot of the current top players were barely born when Serena started wrecking shop.

SF at the AO will be Serena, Barty, Halep and Andreescu, with Serena hopefully winning the title.

Serena fought, I thought when she broke to get on serve at 4-5 in the 2nd we were going the distance.... but sadly she couldn't do it. My personal feelings about Serena and her attitude aside, I really thought she would will her way through this match as a personal vendetta for having to retire in Canada. It stinks she lost, again in straights.

However, credit to Bianca for rising to the moment, she did an amazing job and didnt let Serena really find any rhythm. Good for her and I wish her the best going forward.

She did rise, and I respect that a lot.

I just wish she'd have won even with Serena playing lights out. Watching her not get first serve in is just goddamn miserable.

Not if Osaka has anything to say about that. She has already proven she can blow away Serena and if that serve is ON, she can beat all those girls

Agreed...both got shaky at the end. Bianca it makes sense...Serena looking so dejected and down on herself however...that was uncomfortable. I really was expecting a tiebreak with Serena winning and a fight in the 3rd. Serena just seemed well...out of it. When Bianca held for 6-5 it was like Serena threw it in...which is so not like her. Shes a fighter..and she sadly couldnt muster it.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Andreescu physically. Her build is perfect for tennis.

She is built for explosive, interval based movement, and that's what tennis is. Going all out for 10-25 seconds, then resting.

The only thing I worry about is the risk of overtraining. She seems so motivated that her team probably needs to actively encourage her to get the right amount of rest.

Osaka also has the crosscourt FH as a very dangerous shot. She can hit a winner from anywhere on the court with that shot in defence or offence and she is fearless with it. She can be on the full run two feet behind the baseline and peg the winner.

Another dangerous player for Serena at AO are players like Anisimova and Kenin. Both are capable of getting hot for two sets and outhitting anyone on slow-medium hardcourt. Kenin is like Andreescu in that she is already very advanced in tactics and shot selection despite her age.

Osaka's serve is the BEST shot out of all these girls. I would normally say Serena's serve is the best but then her serve goes off and on now, probably due to lack of confidence so it is no longer the best

There is a lot of hungry young players out there who can take SW out at early stages already. This was an excellent chance for her. But once again she looked like a shadow of herself in earlier rounds. She probably still expects that her opponents will give it to her bowing just because she's Serena.

100% agree. Anybody who says that Andreescu should lose weight are idiots. She is the perfect weight for her frame and for the physical job that she has.

These days, it is incredibly difficult for skinny-boned waifs to succeed at the highest levels of women's tennis. For evidence, see Li Na, Kim Clijsters, Osaka, Azarenka, Kerber, Halep... the list goes on and on. Almost all women in tennis now need thick, tree-trunk strong legs and core in order to succeed.

The only way to get those kind of legs is to eat. And eating makes anybody a bit stocky.

Serena was clearly outplayed on the baseline game,, but serena really shot herself on the foot by serving totally crappy..... Evidence being when she served well down 1-5, she won 4 games in a row. you have to wonder what would have happened if she Served like that the entire match ?????

I was just shocked at how many times she has lost her balance/ coordination on simple shots, and how many UE she produced.

LOL,, right... she was getting over powered by another girl for the 1st time... and that can be shocking...... Serena is always the one hitting bigger power shots and knocking opponents down..... NOT today....

i think bianca is cute the way she is now. but i agree, if she loses more weight, she'll be even cuter.

Are you guys the same ones that said that Genie had a bit of 'extra' around her waist? Genie fell for that and lost a lot of weight (and power) and then you all criticized her. (OK, Genie was never a Bianca in level of play.)

Why don't we let the good tennis players play and control irrelevant comments about their body shape?

Genie carried extra weight on her chin. Hard fix, that one.
