Me - I can't predict tonight's match at all, haven't seen Berrettini at all this tournament and though Djokovic hasn't looked anywhere near his best, he's a mental beast, especially at this point in slams. Hope it's more exciting than this one was.

Med could lose to FAA. Did you see their previous match - Med barely won that after being down in every set.
I said before the tournament bro that zverev and Meddy wouldn’t slip up and make it the toughest road for Novak possible. All it needs now is Meddy beating felix and he will. Felix isn’t getting 3 sets off mad lad.

It's time for you to recognize that Zverev has one of the biggest serves in the game and for a good while now, his first serve has been on fire. He's been getting in around 70% of his first serve and winning around 80% of them. That makes him extremely tough to beat.
That’s the kind of tennis I like to watch

I don't think you know what the word "choke" means. Harris had to be in a position to win the match before he can choke it. That was never the case.
Set point first set on his racket muffed it! He takes that match would have had a different feel

Well, my prediction of a Medvedev vs. Zverev final is very much still alive! Once the draw came out and they were in different halves I felt that would be the final. Two matches away for both of them for it to happen!

Yeah - Harris could have won it IMO. Zed wasn't super special other than a big 1st serve.
The way he bombed the second serve in set 3 ok it came off but to me it looked like a bail out shot that he has zero confidence in his second serve under pressure. I really don’t think a top player has anything to fear against him.

Wish Tiafoe had made a run just to make you smile

Harris was taken by the occasion. Didn't loosen up until halfway through the 3rd. Should have at least taken the 1st set. And if he played well he could have pushed it 5.

Why is everyone saying "earths mightiest warrior, no one can beat him, Zverev choker, can't win against top 10 opposition in majors" and then they are saying "Zverev playing really well, he will win US Open, Djokovic can't beat him on the level of form he has shown"? Many contradictions

I agree. With a shaky second serve and sitter forehand UFEs - most likely not.

@TennisFan3 - do you have any more predictions coming? Can't wait.....
Yes I was wrong. But Harris completely utterly choked.
He was 5-3 in set 1 with a break. CHOKED.
He had a set pt in TB at 6-5. CHOKED.

If he wins set 1, the match completely turns. How can I predict players choking?

Quoted for truth.

Zverev said in interview with German Eurosport, that his back became stiff. And I do think, that this is true, because he tried to finish the rallies pretty fast in set 2 and 3.

I saw that earlier also by his time - that he is carrying an injury which flares up in the back during the matches. It could be decisive vs Novak.

Harris is a disgrace. Rafa almost beat him in D.C. with one foot.
Who were the dunderheads touting this clown?

Zverev injured. Who will win Nitto Finals in Turin this year? Whose turn it it?
Im missing Rafa but I see he doesn't miss tennis too much.

I'm guilty of that. But Harris was playing awesome tennis. I think he was unlucky today and obviously choked a bunch too.
If he won the 1st set, this match could be totally different.

I think you will be disappointed by Berrettini. He’s been making lots of errors all tournament. Had Otte not gotten hurt he may have lost that match.

Can't wait till showtime! It's kind of strange anyway, I don't have a grasp on exactly how good I think Berrettini is or isn't from the different times I've seen him. Maybe tonight I can evaluate better.

But he's playing with little pressure since he's not playing formidable competition. Playing against Djokovic in a slam semi with the CGYS on the line is another realm of pressure entirely. The aces that flew untouched past Harris today will be returned at Zverev's feet by Novak.

Who says Zed is injured?
We are very disappointed in y’all, Dr. Raul. Usually y’all are up on all matters at the moment things happen. It was widely reported on Monday, two days ago, before the Sinner R16 that Zedraffe had to stop his pre-match practice to receive treatment on a balky back. Maybe y’all should Twitter follow experts like @NickMcCarvel so y’all can continue to be as well informed as y’all have been in the past. Please do the needful so the thousands that follow y’all don’t become disappointed.

I'm not saying he's going to beat Djokovic. I'm just saying his serve during the Olympics and here gives him a lot of free points and makes him really tough to beat. Djokovic is the favorite, but if Zverev gets 30+ aces, Zverev will probably win.

I didn’t like the gamesmanship by Zverev right before Harris had to serve on set point. I don’t think Harris would have won the match anyway but that was decidedly not cool.

How Djokovic would have reacted being in Harris' shoes? What do you think?

Zverev is indeed good. His serve is his strongest weapon. Having said that, I do not think he is an insurmountable obstacle for Djokovic even when the latter is not at his best (like this whole tournament). I am 90% sure Djokovic will win if he manages to get through Berrettini today. I have no idea how good Berrettini is at US Open as I have not seen any of his matches, so that is an unknown for me.

What do you mean?? Your _entire reasoning_ here was based on you predicting Zverev would choke. That while he has the skills he always chokes. And now you are saying there's no way to predict a player will choke?

and of course no one choke here. Zverev was simply far better player. Harris being a break up _once_ during the entire match and not winning is not choking - it's being not better. Having _one_ set point and not converting is not choking - it's being not better.
