Hey any of you guys from the West Coast seen the movie Cavite? If you did how was it?
I just saw it last week through Netflix. Although the movie could have been easily set in other parts of the world, it's a movie pitting the Muslims against the everybody, giving an open-minded view on recent religion-fueled crimes in the Philippines. The writers (and directors) of Cavite did an great job portraying the unappealing, depressed side of the Philippines. Think of it as Memento meets Phone Booth with a lecture on religious clashes in the PI. I liked it.

Was refreshing to see movies like this. The other Filipino themed movies I saw were American Adobo and The Debut which were equally entertaining too.

Hi kabayans,
You know any Pinoy tennis groups in Seattle or Vancouver, BC areas? and where they play? I plan to stay for a month there this summer to visit relatives.
I know one group that plays in East Vancouver near Fraser St/41st during the early 90s but when I stopped by summer 2005, there were no longer there. I kinda miss the homey feel with Pinoys, all smiles and good food! :)
Thanks!

LoL .... Sira pala talaga ang pinoy eh? Kung Nakaka tagalog either taglish ang pagsalita o sirang inglese. Sorry nalang sa pagsulat ko sa tagalog, tagal nang di ginamit kase. Marami nabang skits si Navarette?

Daghan na lol....Bisaya here and for a while have been using more English than Tagalog (walang kapraktis). Funny this thread resurfaced lately that I have been digging in my Pinoy media. Was just playing Jocelyn Enriquez 2nd cd and forgot how I enjoyed that years ago. Anyways, listen to the skit Maritess and the Superfriends and let us know what you think lol.

3/4 pinoy 1/4 chinese here...!!! play and live in southern california (san fernando valley and ventura county area) hahaha any students at CSUN on here? ^____^...

Whoa glad to see this thread resurrected. I just had my sister send me a copy of the greatest hits album of ASIN. I used to diss their music when I was younger(drivers and stand bys listened to it) but lately I thought I would look into their music again. ASIN kicks ass and I love the use of some indigenous musical instruments (kulintang).

Hi all! I'm Filipino living here in San Francisco, CA. I play at Gellert Park in Daly City (I used to play at Orange Park, South San Francisco so I know some people there, too.).

I was born and raised in Pangasinan. Any one of you from the Northern Philippines especially Baguio or Pangasinan?

Nice meeting you all.

Forgive me for raising another thread from the dead, but if there are any pinsans in Orange County, CA area looking to hit, let me know.

I would be willing to travel to Cerritos, Long Beach, La Mirada or other pinoy hotbeds for tennis...

I think I can be reached through my profile, but if not I can be reached at bruinduke at yahoo dot com

I'm sure there are a lot of Filipino based tennis clubs and associations out there. If you are a member, how about posting the club or the association's website here or perhaps start a new thread for all the Filipino based tennis clubs and associations every where. It would be cool to be able to contact fellow pinoys to hit with when you visit different places.

I'll start. Union City Tennis Club based at Hall Ranch Park in Union City, CA. Sorry, we don't have a website anymore but if you are in the area, just drop in. There are always friendly pinoys playing there everyday, morning and afternoon specially on the weekends.

BTW, I'm also Filipino from the San Francisco Bay Area.

tennis academy

actually there is one that i'm aware of. beeyong sison runs that one. mamiit trains over there. speaking of mamiit, he needs to get back here and start playing the sattelite and futures. get his ranking back up. he's just wasting his talent over there for basically nothing.
