I watched Tursunov and Dimitrov practicing for a little while today. Tursunov was kinda dominating, and Dimitrov was mad and kicked a chair over.

Here's some of Gonzalez and Ginepri practicing as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhNQ-tbHEMo

I love watching tennis at that angle because you can see just how effortlessly these guys generate such tremendous power. Gonzalez looked like he was just swatting at the ball and it would, like, teleport to the baseline.

And that's Gonzo after injuries and other setbacks!

does anyone know if it will be hard to get tickets for friday during the day? as in just showing up and trying to get them at the box office?

i just spent 20 min waiting on the phone before i had to give up, not looking forward to trying that again

Shouldn't be at all a problem, if it's anything like last year. Confusing that with so many tennis players in Los Angeles, the tourney isn't very well attended. Always empty seats, even during last year's Querrey-Murray final.

It's very easy to get tickets, even to the final. The stadium was like 2/3 full for the singles final last year, I think.

IF he wants it....

I'd imagine he wants it just fine :p

If he's planning to take a miss on Legg-Mason, which I would advise for peaking (for USO) purposes (not to mention which nalbandian is the defending champion), then LA represents just four matches, from Delpo's second round bye to the Final.

Yes, he'll have to play a likely challenging final ... but that w/b a challenge I imagine Juan will relish! :)

Hope Gonzo or Baghdatis can win out here. Having said that Tommy Haas will probably streak his way to the title.

I find it kind of funny that most of the ATL posters are on this thread. I am on the east coast. May not be able to catch the singles. Luv the US hard court season:)

Love that angle.

Does anyone know which strings Ginepri is using in this tournament??? (or the strings he usualy uses)

I'm really liking the pop on his strokes there.

this might be in the wrong section but if you are USTA member do you get a discount on tickets? i'm trying to go tomorrow for full day

John McEnroe's father is a NYC attorney who's done quite well. Mac is one of the few country club/tennis academy products, however, in the days before Bollitieri's existed.

D Kosakowski snags the second set 6-1 and has some good momentum. This would be a huge win, radio tennis said he already turned pro.

Classic ending, Gulbis serves at 6-3 and loses both, xman blows a lame push fest then slams his stick into the court. 2 characters for sure.

Gulbis TAKES xman in a 3rd set TB. Xman netted a bh after a very long last rally after saving a couple mp's and getting back on serve. Huge racket smash from the unhappy xman.

meanwhile Gonzo saves SPs, 4-5

Kuni takes Set One, 6-4

In all seriousness its nice to see Gulbis get a win, maybe his partnership with Canas will be good for him....

Also nice to see Gonzo back and Haas later in the evening.
