Well, as a contract player of Babolat he should already play with the strings of the supplier - don't you think?
The colour is electric brown. The string is called RPM Power.

When is this new Thiem string available for ordinary players? Is it very different from Rpm blast or just a pj? ;)

Because years ago he bought an original strike 18x20 in the shop, tried it and prefered it over his own -pro stock- Head racquets. He considered the Babolat strike that good appearantly.
haha, good one! strike is better than a pro stock racquet! i assume the babolat's money did the switch....do you really think, he bought a strike inspite of an armee of racquet's technician do the tuning jobs for him!!

So you did not know Thiem switched to the original Babolat pure strike 18x20 years ago leaving his pro stock Heads behind?
i cant help you with this ignorance.
Ofcourse Thiem thinkered a bit with these new frames but that does not take away the message that some find hard to accept including you. :happydevil::cool:

Thiem is trying all the combination. he needs to find the perfect combo hybrid to WIN his first major next year at the French open...... What will it be ??? that string bed looks like fullbed poly though... optical illusion ??

Image is from China open so at least right now he’s using full bed RPM power

More soon than blast. The strings don’t move as much as blast. Strange, unique feeling. But I love it.
my string of choice at the moment.

How come you are already that much familiar with the new strings from Thiem even before they are being sold in the shops?

From gut mains to full bed poly is a pretty big change! But it seems to be working as hes playing the tennis of his life right now....

On my broadcast they showed the rpm stats and were almost 20 percent down on the backhand and 10 percent on the forehand for Thiem.

The 2nd serve bounce compared to RG was also quite lower.

Shows us that new string is more for flat hitting

does it have more or less spin than RPM blast rough ?

Wow,, and yet Thiem seem to be playing better with it. so what does this new string do better than the RPM blast or blast rough ? more power ? more control ? more feel ?

Uhm. You do realise that they changed surface? Bounces are different on different surfaces? And different playstyles are suitable to different surfaces?

Bounce maybe yes surface effect but rpm is related to string to ball coefficient unless he changed his technique which is not the case I reckon.

Probably the whole idea was trading rpm for more power .

YES pros change strokes from clay season to hard!!!

RPM is largely related to technique, though of course equipment plays a role.

why would Thiem change to this string. If it has more power then Pros like Thiem doesnt' need more power. they need more control, feel and spin to control the power

I imagine most players use more topspin on clay then on hard, so thats probably not a strange thing. However will definately be easier to control flat shots with a full bed of poly then with gut mains, so could be hes really trying to hit flatter....that backhand is just a monster when he lets it rip!!

but thiem does use tremendous amount of topspin. he hits it so hard it is harder to see the spin than you would with rafa
