Del Potro was even getting bossed around the baseline by Roddick. Djokovic is in sublime form. Djokovic in 3.

I was wondering what was taking so long for this thread to happen. Delpo about to break some hearts!

Two of my fave players, but I don't want to see a rematch of Federer vs Del Potro, so gotta go with the Serb
For me. I'd be happy for either to win, but a Federer-Del Potro final would be painful as a Delpo fan. He struggles against Fed at the best of times, and with his backhand issue (left wrist), it wouldn't be pretty.

which is why I think Fed'd be able to get revenge for that loss...If Fed was to retire though, Del Potro's my man!

I see Djokovic winning a tight four setter. Since that loss to Delpo in the Olympics Djokovic has gotten his game back

I wouldn't bet anyone against Djokovic.

The only two people that are capable of beating Djokovic on hard courts in this US Open are Murray and Fed.

Fed's out and Murray has to get past Berdych. I don't see anyone stopping Djokovic from winning the US Open.

Yea Djokovic looking more and more like a sure bet to win now. Still, let's see what happens, that is why the game is played!

Del Potro needs to start well. That was his problem against Roddick - starting slow. Once he got going, the last two sets were one-sided and in his control, but he can't afford to drop a set to Djokovic right off the bat.

Yep. If he starts slow against Djokovic then he'll drop the first set, and there's almost no way you are going to beat Djokovic in a best 3/5 match on hard court when you lose the first set.

Roddick's level really dropped in the last two sets. Djokovic's level will likely only get better as opposed to drop.

Ehhh Djoker in straights, *maybe* 4 if DelPo starts out well. DelPo has not shown the form to defeat Djoker in this tourney and he won't be helped by having to play 3 days in a row.

Juan Martin del Potro!!!!

If he can take him out we are sure to have 4 different slam winners in 2012 (first time in a while)

I've got a 2 hour journey tomorrow morning so I've gotta be up early, no way I can stay up for this one :(

So, Delpo beat Novak at the Olympics. so why not do the same here ?

Not grass, no pressure from Serbia to win a medal for one's country.

I'm rooting for DelPo - and he was a champion here, but the draw always changes things - but that's my heart, not my head.

Sorry to randomly throw this into this thread, but barring rain, what time of the day will be the men's final be on Sunday? Is it typically a night match?

I think it usually starts in the late afternoon. Like 4 p.m. local time? I could be wrong, though.
