Milos' ballstriking has always been underrated, especially on the forehand side. Great to watch! Serving for the set now at 5-3.
Edit: and he takes the first set 6-3!

Nope. Raonic played well to get his breaks, and his serve and forehand take care of the rest.
Thanks for that. Good to hear. He will be very pleased with his first outing then. I didn’t expect much as its his first match back after 2 years. That will give him some confidence.

even then next shot will be UE by Raonic so still boring
He broke three times, and Kecmanovic didn't double fault 4 times in all those games. Raonic has an excellent forehand, his backhand has been solid at times, and he's more than capable at the net. It's his movement that has held him back. And his personality doesn't resonate with many, even though he's an intelligent, thoughtful person. If he had the same game and acted like Monfils on the court, he'd be popular.

I can't remember any player who takes 2 years off due to injuries ect and wins their first match back, I'm betting Henin possibly did so, maybe Serena after along injury layoff.

I'm not much of a Milos fan, but dangnamit I kinda want him to win Wimby now
I'd rather watch paint dry. Or perhaps an Elephant performing ballet.

No hold on, a balletic elephant would be infinitely more entertaining than that talent-less serve bot.

Nice! Big RaoMUG-fan. Serve is great, and that crosscourt forhand he hits from waaaay out on his backhand side is a joy to watch. He played very solid while not even pushing himself today.

I think he should slim down even more. I think alot of his injury-problem was caused by to much weight/muscles. To heavy.

Impressive stuff after 2 years away.

Does he have PR for wimbledon?
What is a protected ranking and who is eligible?
A player may petition the ATP CEO or his designee for an Entry Protection when he is physically injured and does not compete in any tennis event for a minimum period of six months. The written petition must be received within six months of his last tournament.

The Entry Protection shall be a position in the Pepperstone ATP Rankings, as determined by the player's average Pepperstone ATP Rankings position during the first three months of his injury. The Entry Protection shall be for entry into the main draw or qualifying competition or for special exempt consideration. The Entry Protection shall not be used for seeding purposes, Lucky Loser consideration or for entry into the Nitto ATP Finals.

The Entry Protection shall be in effect for either the first nine tournaments that the player competes in using the Entry Protection (excluding wild cards and entries as a Direct Acceptance with his current position in the Pepperstone ATP Rankings) or for the period up to nine months beginning with the first tennis event that the player competes in, whichever occurs first.

He looked like he moved pretty well today.

Guillermo Canas. Remember when he came back and beat Federer and , I think, Nadal at the sunshine double?

Edit:
Just checked. Canas beat Federer in straight sets in Indian Wells. The next week he beat Federer again in Miami 4th rd in route to the final where he lost in straight 3 sets to djokovic. I believe it was his first tour level match since missing time for doping.
