Well, the history said that the one who beat Nadal at RG was destined to lose the final against an one-handed backhand... till Djokovic came back from 0-2. So I won't rely on history when it comes to Nole.

The only history that will ever involve Ruud is the record he is going to easily set in this era of most slam finals without ever winning one. And possibly the answer to a future trivia question "who is the player who never won a title above 250 level from Norway who made X number of slam finals between 2022-2026".

I think he will definitely have a better showing this year as Djokovic is not Nadal on clay.. But he will still lose. Ruud is good for a set. Hes playing very good tennis. But Djoker is still Djoker

Get bagelled by Nadal in a Roland Garros final and you win the very next Roland Garros tournament.

Ruud has Nadal's blessing

If Ruud wins Roland Garros 2023, it will be the greatest sensation of current tennis and a huge humiliation for Djokovic in history.

This will be worse than Carlos cramping and losing him.

But that's a mission impossible

Unless Djokovic makes a big circus.

unlikely event, but this is Ruud's only chance!!!

No player in history has failed to win a slam when having made at least 3 GS finals
Lendl won in his fifth try at a GS final in 1984 RG coming back from 0-2 sets down against McEnroe.
After a 0-4 initial slam final record, he ended 8-11.

OP, Stan somehow missed that memo in 2014 but did great to seize his chance and capitalised on his match-up advantage against Djoker in 2015 to win it

I honestly think Djoker will in straights or 4 sets max but Ruud will win more than 6 games in total which he managed in last year's RG final

If Ruud beats Djokovic tomorrow, I'll be sending a bottle of fine Malbec to everyone.
(I am very stingy with my wine bottles)

Yes and Murray I think it was on the 4th go. Although history has everyone that’s had 3 GS finals min has one grand slam. Although Tony Roche they count the 3GS finals he lost in open era so he is sort of the exception but he did win GS and made finals in the amateur era…

Just Djokovic?
I would have given him 5 to 10 ( most probably zero) perecnt facing Rafa or Carlos.
But 25 percent for Novak, Novak can be sucked into playing big raliies which may cause him ufe.
Rafa and Carlos blow off Ruud type players on clay

Ruud would have had a chance in a QF, not a Final

Ruud has huge chance to win, he is facing neither Rafa nor Carlos
He played 4 match so far against Novak and lost all 4 with 0 sets won, you think he can win 3 sets in 1 match? Ruud is good player, he is top 10 for 2 years now, this is his 3rd gs final but he has newer won anything above 250....Novak did had chokes earlier but losing against Ruud would be sensation..

See my post above to weakera, I am not saying Ruud is winning or Ruud is favorite, I gave him more chance in compare to Rafa or Carlos

By thinking Ruud can put Novak into long rallies!? Novak has won 2 RG so far and this will be his 7th final. Borg has played final 6 times. Novak has won all big clay tournaments multiple times and has huge experience against Nadal. Carlos has youth and speed but his head can not be matched with Novak's.

Dude I gave Ruud 20 to 25 perecnt chance, you think that make him favorite?
What is your assessment, how much chance you are ready to give to Ruud

I know but I don't see why Alcaraz has bigger chances? Today match...If the roof is closed because of rain.. 95-5%..If it's not 90-10%... Only thing that can raise Casper chances is that Novak play terrible today...

USO 12 was Murray's 5th slam final. USO 08, AO 10, AO 11, Wim 12 were the first 4.

If Ruud wins this final I will just quit this forum. For real. I’ll abandon tennis, which is clearly irretrievably broken, and become a basketball fan or something idk
