What are (for you) the most slippery round strings on the market in 2019 (for using as a cross)?
Thank you

Ashaway Kevlar/ Prince Tournament Poly is the spinniest stringbed combo I’ve ever tried. I’d recommend it if spin is all you care about.

Theoretically all smooth round polyesters should be pretty equal in slipperiness. The firmer ones will notch less and allow gliding longer. But also be harsher. So there's that issue.

Lux 4G, Alu Power, Kirschbaum Max Power and Pro Line II, Tier One Ghostwire, Isospeed Cream, Wilson Revolve are just some of the ones I've tried (other than Ghostwire) and they all work well as a cross string.

I'm not sure the differences would make a huge difference in performance. Personally I get the best performance from the firmer polys like 4G but they bother my arm. I get almost the same performance from Cream and it is fine on my arm.

too many good ones, dont know about 2019 recent releases per say
what color racket do you have? that will narrow the suggestion field a bit

however, i do know that head.lynx "blue", just got released (in time of the release of their head instinct blue rackets),, would that be a 2019 release ???

I'm not especially asking for 2019 releases...
I just want to know what are or still are the slipperiest strings on the market right now.

Who tried Origin crossed with smooth round poly? What gauge and what about SPIN? Close or far away from gut/poly??

Poly tour air, Gamma glide, Dunlop syngut, head syngut, Kirschbaum super smash. I'd look for something coated. If they took the formula for rpm/hurricane and produced it in a round it would be one of those.

Pro Red code wax is my favorite. I was a long time user of Wilson Revolve crosses with Natural Gut Mains. PRCW may be a bit less slippery compared to a brand new set of revolve, but it remains more slippery over time compared to revolve. PRCW holds tension much better than revolve and has a bit more control and feedback. A bit crisper and firmer. Tonic or VS Gut mains with PRCW mains at 3 lbs lower is the ticket. Revolve is a bit softer and more muted, but loses tension too fast.

RPM blast rough - this was recommended by another poster to use as a cross with natural gut and it was one of my favorite setups. Didn't really feel like the rough texture affected durability too much (for me at least), but mileage may vary depending on the player and racquet!

Oh yes!! I break VS Touch 16 in 3hours with Max Power Rough 17 in my Phantom Pro 100... I play only on clay with a lot of spin and slice. I have a really vicious game based only on effects. And I love tennis like this!!! :happydevil:
So gut is not for me, sadly.
I'm searching the slippierest round cross for a very much structured poly main.
My first test will be Ultra Cable as a main. So maybe I will try UC/PRCW!!! :p

What happened to signum pro X-perience?

This!!!

Loving the Wilson Revolve as a cross with Head Velocity MLT mains...and this coming from 10+ years of a poly main/syn cross hybrid.

Softer feel with great spin, touch, feel, control, and power!

TripleB

When my TiMo runs low, I'll pick up a couple of sets to try this. Thanks, @TripleB

Reel is ending soon... And I want/need MORE SPIN.
My game is improving so fast. As my physic and spirit. And as my ranking too!!!
I play lot of tournaments (next one tomorrow) and I know that I need a more spin string to continue my progression. And I take so much pleasure when feeling the string grabbing the ball!!!! I'm a real SPIN DEMON!!!!!!!!!
I play only on clay. Also 90% of tournaments.
X-perience is a REALLY GREAT string. BUT I can't get ULTRA CABLE out of my mind.... I loved it so much in my Pure Aero but it was way too stiff!!!!
Now with my Phantom Pro 100, I can play with any poly at really low tension.
So I will try UC/PRCW pretty soon at low tension (under 18kg). It really can be THE spin from HELL that I'm searching.
More info soon...

Diadem Impulse - so slippery my machine has trouble gripping it to pull tension (have to use paper as a friction plate), shame the coating gets abused by the poly

Also if you are pairing with Max Power Rough (I use this in a hybrid), try out Prince Premier Touch, it doesn't seem "Slippery" when you first string but results on court it gives good performance, including impulse the above which lasts half the time.

...recommendations i got once from TW, didn't try myself though:
Wilson Revolve 16
Yonex Poly Tour Fire 16L
Tourna Black Zone 16

[...and some SHAPED polys, recommended by TW (while not recommended for hybrid setups):
Volkl Cyclone Tour 16
Diadem Solstice Power 17
Tecnifibre Black Code 4S 17]

...thinner gauges should result in less friction

i personally like the Head Lynx, as it's pretty slick and doesn't get notches that easily

...unf., the spaghetti stringing which created unpredictable spins has been forbidden thanks to Guillermo Vilas and Ion Tiriac

what's your rpm rate btw and the tensions that you use?

i actually thought of omitting a few crosses to reduce interstring tension and increase the spin, did anyone try that?
i think there are some racquets on the market with fewer crosses but they don't seem to function well enough as you don't see any pros using such, just Grigor Dimitrov used to play with an 18x16 string pattern as far as i remember it correctly, used 18x17 at the AUS open 2019: http://www.zimbio.com/photos/Grigor+Dimitrov/2019+Australian+Open+Day+5/qE75_z8ArgO

Origin is round but not a poly so it should be smoother. Ultra Cable isn’t round.

all you need to do is run your hand over Origin to realize its not nearly as slippery as polys like Cream, Proline, Revolve, etc. Ultra Cable will be smooth along its long axis but provide edges along the short axis so friction will vary based on which way strings are moving.

Diadem Solstice Power 17 is REALLY interesting!!! I think to try it since long time... But what about tension maintenance?? :/

To say such nonsense is that you really do not know anything about strings... SORRY.
The OP (you) was looking for a slippery round poly, did you change your mind? If you want a round poly don’t use a smooth square poly like ultra cable or Black Code 4S. My guess if if you knew anything about strings you would be here asking for advice.

Irvin is a well respected poster... Your comment that he knows nothing about strings is egregious at best. Your habit of sticking a smiley/emoji after a put down doesn't make everything OK. Do yourself a favour and refrain from this practice.

Back to your question. Wilson revolve as others have mentioned, but I will throw one from left field and suggest Toalson Pro focus poly grande. Remarkable as a slick cross and maintains its snapback better than most.
