Attention Talk Tennis Members:

We are offering an exciting opportunity to playtest the Head Graphene Touch Prestige Mid and Tour racquets before they launch in January. This playtest is open to USA Talk Tennis members only.

VERY IMPORTANT: Playtesters will be required to get their test racquet strung. Your racquet will come with a set of and Head Hawk Touch and Head Velocity. You can use either or hybrid them or use your own string.

The grip size is 4 ⅜ ONLY. Please do not apply if this does not work for you.

Specs of the racquets:
Tour-
Head Size: 99
Weight: 11.4 ounces (strung)
String Pattern: 18x19

Mid-
Head Size: 93
Weight: 11.9 ounces (strung)
String Pattern: 16x19

Application process is now CLOSED. Playtesters have been selected and notified.

We have a VERY limited quantity of racquets to playtest. We select playtesters based on a number of factors, including message board participation and performance on past playtests.

In order to participate you must post your findings in this thread by January 19, 2018. Posting a review by the deadline is absolutely necessary to remain in good standing for future playtests.

Tennis experience/background:
Describe your playing style (i.e. serve & volley):
Current racquet/string setups:
How many hours did you play with the racquet?

Comments on racquet performance:

We will delete “request sent” emails, but encourage a lively “pre-game” discussion on the Prestige.

Fingers crossed as I am a recent convert to the Prestige lineup. Maybe its a bandwagon? Maybe it is the most comfortable for me? Maybe I can win with a 93 sq. in HEAD?

Looking forward to this. Been looking for a new racket replacement and been wanting to play with the Head for quite some time now.

I haven't used a prestige since the Youtek mid version (which I still own), so interested to see how the new mid might compare. Don't remember the exact specs but I think the Youtek one was lighter. I was playing with older midsize sticks from 2008-2015 but decided to eventually go midplus for more power. Interested to see how a new mid stick might perform.

Majority of manufacturers have dropped their 93 sq in offerings. Good to see Head sticking with it.
I really enjoy playing with Gamma Tour 340x and Volkl Organix 10 mid. Hopefully this Head plays as sweet

I was a bit torn on which racquet to bid for. I play with the iPrestige and the YTPrestige. Took a leap and applied for the Mid.

edit: nm, looks to be just a renaming of the rev pro.

Good luck y'all also :). This will certainly be an interesting one. The XT Prestiges were somewhat down on power compared to the previous Graphenes. I wonder if the added weight to the RevPro (now called the Mid) will alleviate the weak throat section, inject more power, and give it the much needed stability it's been sorely lacking.

The Tour may be the gem in all this, and it will be interesting to see how it compares to its obvious competitor - the Wilson Ultra Tour.

Will it be another disappointment, or will this finally be a step forward out of the confusion and bewilderment that has plagued Head since the inception of its "Graphene" process beginning in early 2014?

Very interested in seeing how this touch line plays, having played with both Graphene lines so far. Could be an interesting stick to compare with my older Prestiges and Radicals, especially to my Elektra Pro (since it's a Mid). Certainly hoping for a step up from the two more recent models. It has the headsize and beam width to make it work, all it needs is life...

The Tour looks interesting. I know there are loyalists who say it is too light to be a Prestige, or too big. Ignoring the name on the side, the specs look good and people that have hit with it seem to think so too. It is the ballpark of the Prince Tour 100P and Wilson Ultra Tour which are frames people really like.

Wow, I'm really excited about the mid! It's hard to find 93in racquets nowadays, and with the open 16x19 pattern this stick could be a gem.

There was the Prestige Master, Prestige Tour 660, and Classic MP (Prestige Classic 660) that were all 102q.in.

They both look super tempting. I would be happy to demo either. I have loved the prestige XT's despite all the complaints here abour them when I demo'ed in the past, but was not in the market at that time (friend was). I signed up for the mid though I like the size and string pattern of the tour better..

Fingers crossed! My new mains are a pair of YouTek Prestige MP's so this would be a fun playtest for me! Does anyone know if the mid and tour have CAP grommets?

Interesting specs. One frame's specs are similar to what I use now. The specs of the other frame is the direction that I want to go from here.

Coming from Head, I am sure that they are both well-designed, well tested, and well constructed. A couple of very interesting offerings.

As far as Prestige is concerned, all Graphene versions were a step back from IG, let alone PT or PC. At least for us, more feel-concerned rec players. As for the pro players, we see that most of them play with the old guys - PT600, PT57A or something heavily customized formula-wise that will never hit the common market. Partly, it's our fault too, because I still hear comments like this: "It's a perfect, very light racket!"

It is just that the bar is too high now when "Prestige" is in the name.

Glad to see a 93 with heavy specs back in the lineup. Looking forward to seeing how much the difference is from the old 18x20 Mid and the new open pattern version.

The IGs were good. Every model. They were soft and they felt solid on impact. The Graphenes were just too drastic and horrible.

I agree. I am playing with Microgels these day which I think were a generation before YT IG and I think they are equally solid. Graphene is where the purists diverge on traditional Prestige feel as well.

One of the biggest differences (IMO) between the Pre-Graphene and the Graphene Prestiges has been the throat. The Graphene process has taken mass out of the throat and placed it at the poles. So when you add weight anywhere on the frame, the throat feels even weaker. A good example of this has been the prestige RevPro. I actually think adding weight to this one will help it, since I could use it if it was a little more solid. We'll see :)

Before YT IG came YT. That one was a bit brassy IMO.
