The Nadal had a day off between every Bo3 match and did not overplay prior to London with only three tournaments, 14 matches and just two of those going to a decisive set. To be honest, I think he has a London mental block. Perhaps the change to Torino will free him up.

He has a WTF block imo. He's too good not to have won this title even if it's his worse conditions. I really feel 2017 should have been his year and too bad injury flared up. I think if he had to do it again, he should have skipped Shanghai and just played the WTF. Today, he was gassed and didn't have enough left in the tank at the end.

No excuses this year. Short season, just dominated RG, no Federer or Novak, and he still couldn't get it done.
Medvedev is a good player though. Nadal will never have the luck of facing Murray who collapses after 40 minutes. (like one very lucky player got in RG final)

Ok, all the slams were they aren't absent and/or disqualified?

USO final this year was one of the worst slams finals I've seen in 20+ years. Tennis evolutionists need their heads checked after that horrid chokefest.
Come to think of it, what has been the best slam final since 2003 not involving a Big 3 member? Safin-Hewitt? I guess that one was the most decent.

He wasn't physically tired when he was serving for the match. Stop this BS.

He could have even been hurt, that's how bad his movement was there. Hard to believe it was just fatigue in a best of three tourney.

He played a bad service game there and Medvedev played a great return game. He still had the tiebreak though and to me, that's when it looked like he started to feel it physically.

If you say so...

But Medvedev beat Djokovic 6-3, 6-3, Thiem today 7-5, 6-7, 7-6
Medvedev just beat Nadal 3-6, 7-6, 6-3, while Thiem beat him 7-6, 7-6

Sure looks like Medvedev played better against them to me.

Edit: And Med played on one day's rest (as did Djokovic) while Thiem and Nadal played on two in today's matches.
Today's evening match was worse quality wise i.e. Novak/Thiem played better than RAFA/Med and RAFA played better in his match against Thiem than he did today. Djokovic played better today than he did against Daniil but Daniil can get credit for making him frustrated and give up, though RR shenanigans and etc. But imo blabla

Well, if he gets tired so fast now then maybe it is really time to retire. In BO5 he will have even less chances.

I don't disagree with that. I'll give you your subjective POV.

Felt kinda sorry for Rafa seeing him trudge off like that after the match was over. He looked shattered, like he felt he had just squandered his last realistic chance of winning this title and he may well be right.

Very strange that he choked when serving it out. Not like him and he paid the price.

Medvedev was in better form last year and still lost to Nadal who wasn't playing well....
And even though Medvedev pushed Nadal to 5 sets at last year's US Open, Nadal won the first 2 sets so it'd be straight sets victory in best-of-3.
Also Nadal beat Medvedev 63 60 in the Final of Canada 2019.
Medvedev's best form has not been enough....
Also Nadal served for the match to win 6-3 6-4 against Medvedev in London 2020...

Yeah, I recall him collapsing when he played Nadal in the 2010 semi-final. Collapsed all the way to 6-8 in the deciding set tie-breaker.

Try reading up on some facts before spouting your usual drivel.

True but when he looks at in the cold light of day I think he will think ‘My first serve percentage was shocking for the first 2 sets and hence I was under pressure to hold serve the whole match’.....Don't think he will have any really complaints...

The first 2 sets of their US Open Final 7-5 6-3, almost identical to the first 2 sets of today's match 6-3 and Nadal almost won the 2nd Set.
That 2nd Set was arguably the most thrilling set of the year.

Reverse-jinxing?

I mean what do you people get up to here?...

Next you'll tell me people use the Necronomicon to cast spells, anti-spells...
StrongRole applies reverse-jinxing on Bull, and then throws some jinxing on Djokovic whenever he can, but his main strategy remains reverse-jinxing Bull.

On the other hand, you have TennisFan3, he's the same but works a little bit different. TennisFan3's main strategy is trying to jinx Djokovic in every single match, set and game, and then apply some reverse-jinxing on Bull whenever possible.

In their head, the is how they can help Bull making glory. They tried so hard here but still they failed and the 0 is here to stay lmao

So in your opinion all the jinx and reverse-jinx didn't work?

Nadal has never won a singles title at a venue that uses Greenset Grand Prix as the surface. What other two tournaments use Greenset? Paris Masters and Rotterdam. Both of which Nadal has no titles at.

Greenset is Nadal kryptonite. Medium/medium-slow speed, low bouncing, spin-deadening, and high traction. Zero explosion off the court. The court plays like you are using pressureless tennis balls. This is also why we see these tournaments frequently produce champions who otherwise don't win majors/slams.

The surface itself is such an equalizer that the ability of Top-10 players to use pace and spin to their advantage is all but completely removed.

Credit to Medvedev, probably my second favourite player on tour for the last 2 years (given the lack of Delpo and Stan). All those passive bh slices by Nadal were disgusting though. Play a drive like a true man!
