Venus is giving her all on the court, fan or hater you cant deny her giving her all, she really does look like she has no energy but is battling away.

Up 3-2 on serve in the second.

I take back my (rather) bold prediction of an 'All Williams' final. Even is she gets through this, I dont fancy her chances against Ana/DaniHani, or Azarenka down the road.

Venus is winning 19% second serve points. I shudder thinking what Vika would do to it!

Wozniak is not really a pusher. She's hit some spectacular winners in this match. She's just consistent.

I know her name sounds like the REAL pusher, Wozniacki, but I like watching Alex a lot more than I enjoy watching Caro. At least Alex knows how to hit a FH winner...

Really want Venus to pull through this. Would love to see Venus vs Ivanovic in R4.
Really hope Ivanovic holds off Hantuchova tonight, would be great if she could get to at least QF's, maybe further!

Why would you rather she lose? We want her to gain more points and get her ranking up. Wozniak would be thrashed by Ivanovic/Hantuchova, at least it would be an interesting match. Plus, Venus will have some time at least to recover and prepare for the match.

Come on Venus!

I cant see her beating Ivanovic based on her IW form and Dani will move Venus all over the place.

Im quite happy for Venus to just win this match, its a victory in itself.

It will take her from 134 to around 105, which all but guarantees her direct entry to the FO.

Venus' grunting/screaming is pretty bad. I remember she was vocal, but not this much.

I remember a few years back, Wozniak was talked about as a real up and comer. Wasn't she ranked in the 20s. What happened to her?

I'm in the grandstand watching the Tsonga-Kohlschreiber match but have been following Venus' match on my iPhone app. I heard the roar of the crowd when Venus finally pulled it off. What a roller coaster but great way to pull out a win for Venus. Oh the drama of women's tennis! But isn't that part of the reason we keep coming back for more?

I think Venus had 5 different grunts this match.

As for Wozniak, I remember she was close to the top 25 a couple years ago. I'll have to check. Turns out she got to #21 at one point in 2009. If Wozniak's family had emigrated to the US instead of Canada, she might have done more. Canadian women have never done anything to be honest. It was a big deal for them when Wozniak won Stanford in 2008.

Muguruza Blanco scalped another player? I might have to check her out when I get a chance. I might have to give Vera a bit of a break, but Pennetta is also a headcase.

that said, im glad to see ivanvovic has finally found her game again, destroying hantuchova

Ivanovic vs Venus in R4, looks like a tasty encounter.
I'll go with Ana in 2 sets, maybe 3 if she becomes a headcase.

lol Lisicki's serve clicks on maybe one match per year, it seems. Even then Li should have won that Wim match. I love them both but really I would be surprised at anything but something like a 6-2 6-3 win for Li.

Even though Serena won the first set, I'm still worried about her. Stosur ALWAYS plays her tough and now she's stuck in a multi-deuce game in the second set.

Come on, Serena! I need you to beat Wozniacki in the QF, hehehehe....

^^Serena's serve is a thing of beauty. Love her or hate her, you've gotta admit that she's got the most complete game on the WTA tour. She injects so much excitement into the women's game because of it.
